You My Friend
I sat on my beds edge at night's end
A mental search for someone I could call friend
I wanted someone who's time I could spend !
Maybe someday my heart I could lend
I'd sit never in judgement
For things that might begrudge them
I'd listen with all my heart
With a Smile and Hug I'd start!
To take all they have to offer
Plenty in return
My back I will never turn!
No matter how many bridges did burn
With heart felt words of Praise
Their mood I' try to raise
Whatever means necessary I will use
My shoulder they surely use
To dry the tears, comfort all their fears!
And let it be known
Together a friendship has grown.
