OK Matt and I went to my school orientation today. I know I went ot one before but that was the one to see if I got into school. This one is for I got into school here is all the shit you need to buy and good luck with figuring out where to go and when orientation.
I was glad I had Matt with me though. We started out in the caf. with the student president attempting to tell us about certain things and doing more jumping around and what not that getting stuff right. So it was good for a laugh when he introduced people who actually knew what was going on and set stuff straight...lol
Then we were all sent on our way for numerous college life workshops, which Matt and I just plain avoided. I dont want to be on a sports team, or join the student council. My main goal is to get through this with good enough grades to make a life. Which the way they talk about it, isnt gonna be easy. Oh well I like to go against the grain so I will just pass everything with A's and show them all...lol
So once we left the caf. we headed upstairs to a classroom where we met up with the program co-ordinator Ron. He basically told us what our classes were gonna be about and what not. Then he dropped a bomb on me. He made a book list. I was thinking we were somehow getting off with books, since when I got my package in the mail IDP was the only course with no book list.
Yeah as it turns out they just didnt have one yet. So I was given a list of 3 books to go buy... One was only $13 so I was thinking "WOW, this will be no problem to afford." lol yeah, not so much. The next one was $40 and the last was $89. Oh did I mention I went there using money I need for my car payment??..lol
Oh well we had to buy them so its all good. Then I found out I only had three textbooks and I may possibly need more. Then on top of all that I found out i should have an english class on my schedule, but I dont. Boo. So I got a paper informing me i need to go write a test to decide my english skills so they can decide what english class I need to go in.
So I called to book an appointment and found out I need to go back tomorrow to write a two hour test at 9am @ the Newham campus. Once I write this test I will then have an english class on my schedule as well, and depending on how bad I do, I might have to take 3 english classes to graduate. On top of that I will for sure need to take 3 electives as well. Hoo raaa, it keeps piling on already...lol
So once all that was done i went to get my student card. Yeah not the most flattering pic..lol Not as bad as my license but not the best..lol I will have to post a pic of it later...lol
And that is my day in a nutshell. I was glad Matt was there to be with me, now when I come home and say so I had to go here or here he has a slight idea of what I am talking about etc.
Oh and i get to pick up my parking permit tomorrow. GO ME!!
