There Was A Time
by BlueWolf ©
There was a time,
Not long ago,
When everything seemed,
So dark, lonely and cold.
Hiding in shadows,
Running from fears,
Wasting my life,
For all of those years.
No one to run to,
No one to care.
No one to hold onto
When I felt scared.
So many tears
All wrapped up in fears.
So many wasted smiles
For all of those years.
Was this the life
That was meant for me?
Was this my life
Oh, how can it be?
My heart full of dread
My eyes void of hope
I know this is wrong
But I am at the end of my rope.
I want to feel
The love that I deserve.
I want to be
With someone without reserve.
Then it happened
On a warm August night.
The moon brightened
And my heart saw the light.
With care and caution
I proceeded to know
All of the glorious wonder
That he could bestow.
To hear her speak
Is music to my ears.
To listen to her
Is what I want for years.
We are twins at heart
We are so much alike
No two people will ever know
The special things shared that night.
My heart has begun to open
My soul feels alive
What is this wonderful feeling
I want to enjoy this ride.
What ever may happen
Either good or bad,
I promise to stand by her
And never let her feel sad.
She is my hope
My salvation and more
My life is much better
Than it ever was before.
There was a time,
Not long ago,
When everything seemed
So dark, lonely and cold.
I am so glad
Those times are no more.
I am so glad,
That you are mine and I am yours............
