Why Men Cheat

In my first installment of this series “Why women cheat- the unabridged version” women every where had a comment to write about the men. Some women thought that most of the reason why they did what they did do was simply because the man had done something that ruined them to commitment on various levels. Now to me, that is a cop out, I think if you’re gonna do something on this level, you do it without regards to what someone else did. You do it because you want to. But as I researched into why men cheated, I found something odd. The main reason why men cheat is because, (insert drum roll) life at home isn’t right.
Whoa, doesn’t seem like a major breakthrough in psychology is it? Well, I didn’t either. Lets look at it from the (my) Man’s perspective. Ok, what would you do if everyday you come home to an argument? The wise man would find a way to not argue. Some men like to argue, but that’s another story entirely. Lets say our man is wise (hush ladies, I hear you guys! =) ) He’s been involved with a certain lady friend that he enjoys being with. They decided to co-habitate (shack, for all you Southern Baptists out there) for about 6 months and for a while everything seems normal. He’s not been troubled by anything. But little do he knows is that all the lady’s friends has been telling her things that an ideal man should be doing and slowly she begins to try to “train him”. He is now finding himself letting the toilet seat down after he uses the rest room. A couple of times he catches himself doing weird stuff in the grocery store, asking himself what size pads to get. We tend to allow that to go on until one of our friends catch us in the act and suddenly it’s a problem. Men will rebel against your programming, and then we’ll get the talk about how we’ve changed. This man is a man of peace so, he wouldn’t say much to that. All he remembers is that girl Teresa told him on the job she’ll never treat him less than a man. That man becomes a candidate for cheating.
The next reason is the one that makes all men look heinous to the women. Men cheat because men are always searching for the next conquest. Remember that song “climb every mountain, ford every stream?” This song was learned in the fourth grade. It was taught to be the reason that drives us to conquer all that stands in our way. Wheather it be rush hour traffic or the Shelby Twins, men are inspired to conquer all that stands in his way. Lets look at it another way. This man has been involved for 6 years with the same woman. She is a creature of habit so, the relationship is habitual. Week in and week out, the same thing. Men are told that once you get married the sex life falls way off. This is true. No matter how hard you try to keep it fresh, if your partner stays in the rut, you wont be rutting. So now vexed but not really thinking about it (a man wont break up simply because the sex aint there, its got to be that plus something else), here comes this carefree chick who isn’t bound by the rules, (hence the mini-skirt up to there) and saw you come in the door and smiled at him and gave every indication that the only reason why they aren’t doing the horizontal tango right then is because he haven’t given her the okay. The guy will mentally go over how his life is at this point. Make a decision. And go from there. He may not say yes the first time, but the promise of life as you please looks very good to the conformed.
Last reason men cheat is what women around the world have been saying since the garden of Eve: Men are weak. Even I get upset when I hear it. But its true so, I have to go along with it. But everybody has a type. Tall, dark, short, handsome, blonde, stocky, etc everyone has a type that would give them pause. When I was growing up, long hair got my engine reved up. I dated a few ladies simply because they had hair I could run my fingers through. Women are very adaptable creatures, and with the technology out here now, a woman can resemble any other woman on the planet. (and they claim they want honesty in a relationship,. ha, with that mascara and push up bra on!) And a man is no match verses a woman with that kind of ammunition. Woman can be in the same room with someone that shes attracted to without letting on that she even notices him, a man however, gawks, drools, makes excuses to buy her drinks, all to get her attention. So ladies never wonder why men do what they do. Most of us are trained by you to play the game that we play. Its just that you play it better than we do, so you would get angry when he does it first,.. I await your comments =)
