I had some nasty shit go down today and I wanted to say that while I flipped out, my friends stepped up- namely one. I realized something today. I have the most amazing people in my life. I’ve said it for months now that my friends are the best and they are truly the only reason why I haven’t kicked rocks and rolled on out of Phoenix yet. Today though, was a reminder for me that while I don’t have any blood relatives here in Phoenix, I do have family. I do have people that love me and that I love too. I’m blessed and I know this. There is a petition circulating on the net to have a portion of Highway 401 designated as the "Highway of Heroes". The web site reads Quote Let's officially designate 'Highway of Heroes' In Ontario, when a Canadian soldier dies for his country in Afghanistan they touch Canadian soil at Canadian Forces Base Trenton. From there, a funeral procession leaves the base and heads to Toronto, Ontario taking our departed heroes to the Centre for Forensic Sciences. Along the 172km path of Highway 401 people fill the overpasses to show their support, waving Canadian flags and signs, in a sort of paying their respects to the fallen and their families. It's been unofficially dubbed the "Highway of Heroes" and I personally would love for an official naming of the 401, from Trenton to Toronto down to the Don Valley Parkway "The Highway of Heroes". This past year my life has been turned upside down by getting a divorce from a man I was married to for 17 years, with for 20, he filed in Oct. I moved out with our children in Nov. by Jan. he moved out of our home and in the home of our next door neighbor (who recently moved there in August) our divorce was final in March and he married the next door neighbor in May. Who knows what tomorrow brings to you...however grim my days were then... happiness is what I was having as of late because I finally find someone who is so loving and kind, I have been happy for the first time in so many years. I got engaged on July 27th, 2007 the most amazing man whom I met online and now numerous times in person with plans of him eventually moving to be with me. Now one month later, August 27, he is rushed to the hospital,, and is in the intensive care unit with serious blood clots throughout his body and no doctors know why. Perhaps I'm being selfish to make this blog when so many are remembering the terrible memory of 9/11...so I appologize to any who may take offence.... Since the begining of July, I shared with my friends that I had found a lump in my right breast and followed with a battery of tests .... I thought I was getting away lucky when I went for a lumpectomy and would be allowed to go on my merry little way... Well didn't quite get away...nice try but I was informed that the lump wasn't contained as originaly thought and on the 20th of this month will return and have a mastecomy.... This has created an inner battle of vanity over health...I'm a big girl and how am I going to cope with a cantalope on one side and nuttin on the other side....It's amazing the black hmour one can come up with when faced with a scary jouney and scared I am....as this is just the begining...its called CANCER ...evil little bugger...but I am blessed with good friends and an awsome family so I WILL win...

Well, I got home a little while ago from my trip to WV to get the remainder of my things from the marital home... The trip was absolutely wonderful!!! I could not have expected anything more!!! So, I know you want to hear some things about it.... here goes... 1st... we left, Phil and I, around 9 pm last night. He let me start driving when we go to Whythville, VA. and I drove the ramainder of the trip (4/5 hours). I wanted to show him how dark it gets up there in the middle of nowhere, so we pulled off onto the scenic overlook on highway 19 north, just south of highway 79 (the last leg of the trip). I turned off the truck, turned out the lights and we sat there for a second and then simultaniously opened our doors... so wierd! For today - I'm going to thank God that I woke up this morning - I could have died in my sleep. I'm going to be thankful for the sun that is shining outside my window. THIS PAST SUNDAY STARTED OUT AS A NORMAL DAY I LEFT MY HOUSE WITH MY BEST FRIEND MARINA AND WE DID MORNING ERRANDS BEFORE WE PICKED UP HER OLDEST DAUGHTER. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AS ALWAYS. I get a call the other day. My father was in the hospital again. He is in his 70's so to go for a minor issue is common. But As we were talking I could hear in his voice that he could not talk. He told me how he could not swallow or keep down food. They would do a biopsy and see if it is anything. Two days later he called with the results. Yes it was cancer. We do not know how bad it is but as we all know it is never good. I am thousands of miles away and can not be there with him. Thank god for his new wife. SHe will take good care of him i know that. I ran out of gas in on the 710 last night on my way to Long Beach. So I coasted off the freeway and into an outlet shoe store in Carson. They were closed but a guy told me there was a gas station a few miles down the road. So I started pushing my bike. I was only about half a mile or so down the road when Liz, the assistant manager from the store I was at asked if I wanted a ride. I told her that it was okay, but she insisted on helping. So she drove me to the gas station. But they didnt take cards. So she drove me to a bank...then back to the gas station then back to my bike. I tried to offer her some gas money but she wouldn't take it. Anyways.. thank you Liz..evan though I know you'll never see this. I'm just really glad to know that there are still nice helpful people out there!!

Thanksgiving Dinner *turkey, Sides And Desert*
Roast Turkey with Sausage Stuffing Prep Time: 15 min Total Time: 3 hr 30 min Makes: 16 servings 1 frozen whole turkey (10 lb.), thawed 1 lb. pork sausage 1-1/2 cups hot water 2 pkg. (6 oz. each) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Turkey PREHEAT oven to 325°F. Do not stuff turkey until ready to roast. BROWN sausage in large skillet on medium heat; drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the drippings. Place reserved drippings in large bowl. Stir in hot water. Add stuffing mix and the cooked sausage; stir just until moistened. Stuff neck and body cavities lightly with stuffing. Truss turkey; place on rack in large roasting pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Place any extra stuffing in separate lightly sprayed covered baking dish. ROAST 3 to 3-1/4 hours or until internal temperature of thigh is 180°F, breast is 170ºF and center of stuffing reaches 165°F when checked with meat thermometer. Bake any extra stuffing with turkey during last 30 min. of turkey baking time. Sweet Potato

I learned a friend of mine was killed earlier this morning. His name was Mike Campbell and I have known him since my first year in college. I wasn't too close with him, but the times we hung out were more than memorable. We were in a theater group together and had been cast in a few shows together in the four years I was there. He was a talent, but he was also quite a character. They say that, "All the world's a stage and we are merely the players" - well, the cast just lost a great actor, singer and friend. Just moments ago, I excitedly leveled up. This great sense of accomplishment is something that seems silly to me but I have been stuck at this level for about a month now. Got this by email from a mailing list.... One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen,and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!

My opinion is this, you have to figure out the difference between friends and people you enjoy online. Just because you talk on Fubar with someone doesn't mean friends. Just because you add them to your friends list or family list doesn't mean friends. It's mostly people you enjoy. Over time and getting to know people, then you're able to create friendships. Then you can branch out to other arenas...i.e. phone, cams, etc etc...but again, this is just my opinion... I have been on the 'net since 1991, before cams and only typing...lmao I see people trying wayyyy to hard to go too far before it's time to...people you "know" online aren't like ppl you "know" that you work with or see every day... *shruggs*

This past week has been rough..I have never had pneumonia so didn't know what to expect..well I have now and I don't like it !! I am not even 75% better yet but I am working on it..The pain in my back is just terrible...I was able to sleep last night so wooo hooo for me :P So now to some of those that were like UR STILL SICK ummmm you try it and tell me how long it lasts with you !!!! My feet feel like they're going to fall off...or maybe that's just wishful thinking. -_-; Gyah! Checkout line ups to the back of the store. 45 minutes waits in line. O.M.G. There were the regular 8 tills open...plus they set up two extra...so, all in all, there were ten tills total. (Hehe...alliteration is fun...) And still the lines were crazy insane madness. @.@ My back hurts, my feet hurt, my freakin' FACE hurts (smiling all day...whoever said that it takes more effort to frown than smile obviously didn't work checkouts on opening day at Giant Tiger for 12 1/2 hours straight, smiling every freakin' minute of it). -_-; I'm seriously grumpy. I just want to go to bed. But...my "room mate" is out and about, socializing with the other two gals from P.A. in their room...and if she forgot her key, then she'll have to knock to be let back in...which means if I'm sleeping, there's goes my night. Then again...the way I'm feeling...I'd probably go right back to sleep. :-P
