CHICAGO (Reuters) - In another sign pointing to an inherited component to autism, a study released on Monday found that having a schizophrenic parent or a mother with psychiatric problems roughly doubled a child's risk of being autistic. "Our research shows that mothers and fathers diagnosed with schizophrenia were about twice as likely to have a child diagnosed with autism," said Julie Daniels of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, who worked on the study. "We also saw higher rates of depression and personality disorders among mothers, but not fathers," she said in a statement. The study of families in Sweden with children born between 1977 and 2003 involved 1,227 children diagnosed with autism. 600 Students Fight In School Race Riot
Source: CBS Four people were arrested and a school went on lockdown after a fight between black and Hispanic students raged, according to authorities. Police were sent to Locke High School shortly after 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. The fight allegedly involved some 600 students. Some minor injuries were also report. The extent of those injuries was not known but a fire department official said no one was transported to the hospital. Police were sent to Locke High School, 325 E. 111th St., to quell a disturbance call said Susan Cox of the Los Angeles Unified School District. It was also unclear if all the people arrested were students. According to KCAL 9 News, the fight was allegedly between black and Hispanic students.

Studious Ducks
I first noticed this last Spring, when it was (understandably) wet in Western Washington. Much to my surprise, they've returned: There is a mated pair of ducks living on my school's campus. Last Spring, I first noticed them hanging around a puddle/pond that had formed among a cluster of trees that is surrounded by walkways, and once on the baseball field on a particularly rainy day. Yesterday they were walking around on one of the grassy knolls in the central courtyard, probably looking for some lunch. They've become used to mingling with students, as I was able to pass within a few feet and they didn't even flinch. I'm trying to figure out what to pack, and what not to pack. It seems like just yesterday I unpacked everything and now I'm repacking everything and getting ready to move again. So many things keep going through my mind. I feel a whole lot better though. I'm not sad, depressed or anything. I could careless, if you know what I mean? Why should I drag my feet, and hold my head down when I know things can be much better than that. It's hard to think that things would come to an end this way, but maybe it was for the best? Preparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 35 minutes Serves: 4 Ingredients 4 medium red or green bell pepperscooked, top 1/2 inch cut off and reserved, seeded and white membranes removed 1-1/2 cups vegetable or chicken stock 3/4 tsp. rosemary, or 2 tsp. fresh, minced 3/4 tsp. thyme, or 2 tsp. fresh, minced 1/2 tsp. marjoram, or 1-1/2 tsp. fresh, minced 1/4 tsp. salt (optional), or to taste 1 cup bulgur or old fashioned oatmeal 1 tomatocooked, diced Instructions Preheat oven to temperature 350°F. Place bell peppers in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover saucepan and steam peppers 2 minutes or until tender. Remove peppers from steamer. Place cut side down on paper towels to drain. today was my last day of tests for finals week. I think I did well in all my classes except math. I don't think I did too well on the criminal justice test. I was one of the first people done. Normally I am one of the last. I don't think anyone else did well either though. So hopefully he adjusts the score like he normally does. I think I did better than most people, and that's all it takes to get a good score over all after he adjusts things. The psyche test was a good test for the most part. I did well on it. There were questions where you had to connect two concepts. We discusssed all of them in class, but we didn't talk about how they connected with each other. I went to an atheiests lunch thing todday, and listend to a soldier talk that recently got back from iraq. A major guy, he seemed kinda cool. He is in the reserves. Then stopped by a party. It was all kinda interesting. It's hard for me to believe that people actually do the happy hr thing, but what ever makes people happy I guess. The random picture thing is interesting. The immaturity of some people amazes me. Earlier this evening I watched the first episode of Mind of Mencia: Season 3, and at the end of the episode Carlos mentioned his website. Not a whole ot going on today. It's werid when things stop. I talked to an advisor person about what classes I should take. They were somewhat helpfull. I signed up for some summer classes. So starting May 14th, I'll have stuff to do. I guess I have break for a few days. I probably need one. I'm just not sure what I'm going to do with it. The summer classes are all messed up though. They have different scedules, and different months. Some start in may, and some start in june. Some go to july, and some to augaust.. I only have a couple classes in may. That's probably a good thing in a way, cuz I think one of them is a n "upperlevel " class. I haven't taken any of those before. So I don't really know what to expect from it, or how hard, or anything it will be. I also don't know how much I"ll get paid for may, since I'm not in many classes. I have 14 credits for the summer, and I only need 12 or 13 for full time. But I don't know if they pay the full time amount if I'm not actually

I think I finally got enough rest from driving across country. I'm finally back on the coast I have known my whole life and I fucking love it. Granted there isn't a beach here, but I'll manage. STUFFING: 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 lb. Mozzarella, grated 1 pt. ricotta (low fat) 2 scallions, sliced 2 tbsp. basil 1 tbsp. salt 1 lb. manicotti noodles Jar of spaghetti sauce 9 x 13 inch baking dish (or larger dish) Brown meat; season with basil and salt. Drain well; let cool. Combine meat, grated Mozzarella, ricotta, scallions. Stuffing should be very heavy. Cook manicotti according to package MINUS 1/3 of the suggested time; manicotti should be a little stiff. Stuff each manicotti. If noodle tears, just press it into stuffing and lay torn side down in pan. Pour small amount of sauce in bottom of baking dish. Place stuffed noodles in dish, cover with sauce and crumbled stuffing mix if there is any left over. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes. Freezes and reheats well.

1 lb. lean ground beef 1 medium sweet onion 2 1/2 cups cooked Jasmine white rice 2 medium/large green bell peppers 2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce 8 heaping tablespoons honey Prepare Jasmine white rice, fluff, cover and set aside. Dice sweet onion, add to large non-stick saute/frying pan with lean ground beef. Sauté beef and onion until beef is browned. Drain fat, add 2 1/2 cups of Jasmine white rice to browned beef and diced sweet onion; mix. Cut green bell peppers in half, remove caps and seeds; rinse. Pour 1 15 oz. can of tomato sauce into measuring cup and add 4 heaping tablespoons of honey and blend. Pour tomato sauce mixture over beef and rice; mix. Add second 15 oz. can of tomato sauce to measuring cup and add 4 heaping tablespoons honey; blend. Add beef and rice mixture to green bell pepper halves. Arrange in glass casserole dish. Pour tomato sauce mixture over and around stuffed bell peppers. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Serve with a crisp cool salad. Serv

8 Bell peppers, lg. for stuffing 3 tbsp. bacon grease 1 lb. ham cubes, chopped in food processor 1 c. Bell pepper, chopped 5 stalks celery, chopped 2 bunches green onions, chopped 1/2 c. elephant garlic, chopped 3 lbs. ground round or tip roast 2 lbs. med. shrimp, cleaned, chopped sm. 10 inch loaf French bread, soaked torn in sm. pieces 1/2 tsp. thyme leaves 1/2 tsp. oregano leaves 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. white pepper 1 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. olive oil 2 cans tomato sauce 1 can Cajun stewed tomatoes 3 cans water Angel hair pasta Parmesan cheese Cut tops of Bell peppers off, clean out inside and wash. In very large pot filled with water, boil the Bell peppers for 20 minutes or until just tender- crisp. Do not over cook or the peppers will split up the sides. Drain peppers and set aside. I have to write about how movies and music and tv affect or are affected by culture. I don't watch tv, much, I dan't watch many movies, and I rarely listen to music. I mostly qpuit watching tv when I joined the army. It seems to be an accuired taste, much like drinkinng soda pop. If you don't do it for a while, it tastes funny when you try it again. 2 medium green peppers 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 can (8 oz. ) tomato sauce, divided 1/4 c. uncooked instant rice 3 T. shredded cheddar cheese, divided 1 T. chopped onion 1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 t. salt 1/4 t. pepper 1 egg, beaten Cut tops off of the peppers and discard; remove seeds. Blanch peppers in boiling water for 5 min. Drain and rinse in cold water; set aside. In a bowl, combine beef, 1/4 c. tomato sauce, rice, 2 T. cheese, onion Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and egg; mix well. Stuff the peppers; place in an ungreased 1 1/2 qt. baking dish. Pour the remaining tomato sauce over peppers. Cover and bake at 350 for 45-60 min. or until meat is no longer pink and peppers are tender. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese; return to the oven for 5 min. or until cheese is melted. 2 servings

A savory stuffing made from green pepper, celery, onion, bread crumbs, and corn is stuffed into double rib chops, then browned and baked. This delicious entree is easy and a perfect dinner for a cold night. INGREDIENTS: Stuffing: 1 tablespoon annatto oil 1 fresh plum tomato, chopped 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1-1/2 tablespoons basic recaito 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled, cleaned, and diced 3 green plantains 1 cup corn oil1 Heat the annatto oil in a medium skillet. Add the remaining stuffing ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink. Set aside. Peel the plantains and cut them into 1/2-inch rounds. Prepare as for Traditional Tostones. 2 Place 1 teaspoon of the shrimp mixture on a toston. Put another toston on top and secure with a toothpick. 3 NOTE: You can also stuff the tostones with seafood salad.

Pork chops are stuffed with a mixture of apples, raisins, and cheese, along with bread crumbs and spices. INGREDIENTS: * 6 pork chops, at least 1 1/4 inches thick * 1 1/2 cups bread cubes, toasted * 1/2 cup chopped apple * 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese * 2 tablespoons raisins * 2 tablespoons butter * 2 tablespoons orange juice or apple juice * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon PREPARATION: Cut a pocket into each pork chop. Salt and pepper inside of pockets of pork chops. Toss together the bread cubes, chopped apple, shredded cheese, and raisins. In a cup, combine melted butter, juice, salt, and cinnamon.Pour over bread mixture and gently stir until thoroughly mixed. Stuff pork chops lightly with the mixture. Boneless pork chops are flattened and stuffed with a bread crumb mixture. I signed out of my unit, got a really good ass chewing, (I did deserve it), got removed from attending the promotion board, and had my flight reservations cancelled for this morning. Holy toledo, I made it online finally. Busy with stuffs. Made two trips to Cedar Point with Aaron. Two Sundays in a row. Was really awesome since it wasn't peak season so there weren't assloads of people there. Got on all the coasters. Top thrill was the only one i didn't much care for. Scared the bejesus outta me. Pretty sure i screamed the entire time. Aaron had a vacation week last week, so spent pretty much the entire time hanging out with him. Sucks he has to work this week, I'm bored. Ya know what i find pretty weird... Ok, see, I'm a very open person... I don't really find little things like, pics of me BAD... I guess you could say that lately I been alittle pissy about different things in life: It really blows my mind when I'm driving to work and I hit the off ramp only to have about 3 other vehicels in front of me take the off ramp as well but they re-enter the highway again. So? The concept for this is?? Pure damned stupidity in my opinion. Cell phones: The person in front of me on a cell phone! Typical ..yes! However they are all over the road, almost hitting the vehicle next to them...going below the speed limit and what the assholes don't realize is they are holding up traffic. I wanna just floor it and ram them in the arse end of their vehicle...but I breathe in and breathe out ...try to get into the next lane and pass their ass. When you go to the local walmart and there are a bunch of people in line under the sign that says "10 items or less" and their damned basket is full and you only have one or two items!!! Last night I got a message from Walgreen's saying I should give them a call ASAP. I applied there not to long ago online for Pharmacy Technology. They train you on the job in 18 months. Then I would be a CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technologist) That would be soo awesome if I could get a job there. I know it would be harder on the job training then going to college but I don't have the money for that. Starting out, Pharmacy Techs around here earn an average of about $27,000 a year. But the longer you work the better it gets. This job has a good outlook and would be a great career. I'm not going to hold my breath though that i'll get a job there.

Stuffed Burgers (it's What's For Dinner)
*Stuffed Hamburgers* 1 pound lean ground beef 3/4 teaspoon salt 3/4 teaspoon dried onion flakes 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 cup crushed bacon crisp 4 tablespoons pickle relish 4 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 4 hamburger buns 1 tomato, sliced for accompaniment 1. Preheat barbecue grill. 2. In a large bowl combine ground beef, salt, dried onion flakes and pepper. 3. Shape into 8 thin patties. Divide and place pickle relish, cheddar cheese, bacon, salt and pepper on half the patties. Place the remaining patties on top and press the edges to seal well. 4. Grill for 5 minutes per side for well done burgers. 5. Serve over 4 hamburger buns with 1 sliced tomato, ketchup, prepared mustard or other condiments of your choice. Makes 4 servings.

Well xbox/microsoft still has no clue on why David's xbox live account will not work on his new 360. I called again and they said they have sent it to a level 3 engineer. With Microsoft it could be a good thing if that means they are the better people.. though my experience with them so far suggests a level 3 means they never got past third grade. Meanwhile David is upset and asking me to call them every 10 minutes lol. Pluto is relatively calm today... chewing up his big bone he got for Christmas. I wish I could get him a supply to last a year, not one day. I have decided its best to put some distance between myself and the person who was my best friend. While some of you are quite protective of me and voice opinions rather strongly, this was something where we both had issues and the blame I think falls on both of us. So, Sunday Adam and I went to Dennis' and had a BBQ. It was the girls, Dennis, Adam and me, and we actually got along quite well, It was great. But, other than that, I've just been stressed major... so much drama going on in my life... seems like if it's not one thing it's another.... Sucks... well let's clarify a few things the child that mamajuggalette talks about is mine and my husbands son. he passed away in July he had his first christmas that following december and turned 1 January 03 of 2008 me and my husband had baby # 3 in march a beautiful little girl we named Delorys. our oldest son will turn 5 in June and we will celebrate ( lack of a better word) Devlins Angel day in July. me and my son and my husband really miss him. we buried him the first part of August it was really a comforting service with family and friends. im sorry if this sounds kind of bitchy but Delin was never apart of her family because she tried to ruin mine me and my husband were already married when she tried to play homewrecker.

Recently I was commented by several people on lack of any type of decor at my house. And it struck me: I don't like stuff anymore. Growing up in Russia, I would dream of having my own room, nice furniture, decorations on the walls, etc. Of course those were only wishes. Now that I can actually afford shit, I don't want it. Stuffed Mushrooms
Stuffed Mushrooms 24 large mushrooms, 1-2 inches diameter 1/4 cup sliced green onion (2) 1 clove garlic, minced 2/3 cups fine dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or smoked Gouda cheese or crumbled Blue cheese Rinse and drain mushrooms. Remove stems; reserve caps. Chop enough stems to make 1 cup. In a medium saucepan cook the chopped stems, green onion, and garlic in butter until tender. Stir in bread crumbs and cheese. Spoon crumb mixture into mushroom caps. Arrange stuffed mushrooms in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Bake in a 425 degree oven 8 to 10 minutes or until heated through.

Well I know I am not a great writer of this but here goes. Looking around at the world the last little while, I have had a little more growth. My parents were here for a visit two weeks ago my first time I have seen them in a year because of the work I do and the distance between us. I have come to realize I truly miss them. It was not more then five minutes out the door off to my office and it hit me. A new chapter in life has started. During this time I must thank everyone out here for making me godfather. I never thought I was going to get there, but I did with all the support of my friends old and new that helped me get there. I thank you for just being there to have the time to come by and rate me, view, & say hello from time to time. RECIPE INGREDIENTS: One half of a 12-ounce box of jumbo pasta shells (about 18 shells) 1 teaspoon salt 1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese 2 large eggs 1 cup grated parmesan cheese 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese 2 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or mint (or 2 teaspoons dried) 1 (26-ounce) jar Italian pasta sauce 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bring a large pot of water to boil over high heat. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and the pasta shells to the water. Boil the pasta shells until they are tender, but still a little firm (al dente), about 10 minutes. Meanwhile make the filling (step 2). When pasta is done, drain the shells, run under cold water to stop the cooking process and set aside. 2. In a large bowl stir together: the ricotta cheese, eggs, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and parsley or mint. Pour about 1 cup of pasta sauce into a 9x12 casserole dish. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of the ricotta filling into each cooked pasta shell. Place the filled shells, si

Stuffed Tomatoes 6 slices of bread 6 firm tomatoes 1 small onion 6 sprigs parsley egg yolks 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons butter Butter a baking dish. Put bread in food processor or blender and process until it is crumbs. Wash and dry tomatoes, cut off tops and remove pulp.Sprinkle insides of shells with salt and pepper. Put tomato pulp, onion, parsley, egg yolks and seasonings inot a food processor or blender and process until parsley and onion are finely chopped. Mix with the bread crumbs. Melt butter in a saucepan, add tomato mixture and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. Fill fill tomatos with this mixture. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top if desired. Bake 20 to 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven or until soft.

Stuffed Zucchini
6 medium zucchini 1 slightly beaten egg 1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs 1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese or Parmesan cheese (2 ounces) 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon black pepper In a Dutch oven cook whole zucchini, covered, in boiling lightly salted water for 5 minutes; drain and cool slightly. Cut a lengthwise slice off the top of each zucchini. Remove pulp with a spoon, leaving about a 1/4 inch shell. Chop enough pulp to measure 2 cups; place chopped pulp in medium bowl. (Save remaining pulp for another use.) Stir the egg, bread crumbs, 1/4 cup of the cheese, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper into the chopped pulp. Fill zucchini shells with pulp mixture. Place in shallow baking dish. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes; sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes more or until heated through.

16 oz Cheddar; Sharp, Shredded 8 oz Green Olives; Stuffed, * 2 Green Bell Peppers; Md 12 French Rolls; Large 6 oz Tomato Sauce; * 1 Onion; Md. * These are approximate sizes. Recipe called for 1 small jar of stuffed olives and 1 can of tomato sauce. It should be to your taste. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Cut the tops off of the rolls and hollow them out leaving a thin shell. Grind all of the ingredients and bread in a meat grinder or food processor and stuff back into the rolls. Place the tops back on the rolls and secure with tooth picks. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees F. for about 45 minutes. Serve Hot

INGREDIENTS * 1 (16 ounce) package kielbasa * 1 (7.6 ounce) package roasted garlic flavored instant mashed potatoes * 1 1/2 cups sauerkraut * 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional) DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add kielbasa and boil for 8 to 10 minutes to reduce the amount of fat; drain. Prepare mashed potatoes according to package instructions. 2. Cut kielbasa into 4 equal portions, then split each lengthwise so that they lay flat but are still attached. Layer each sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Top with grated cheese. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted.

Oh I just had the most lovely Thanksgiving!! My wonderful sister Di and our dear friend Ms. Caroline came for dinner with me and my kids [plus the kid's gf and bf]...Di cooked an amazing ham and brought two pies -- one pecan and the other cherry...Both with wonderful stories of when they were obtained...She tells such funny tales... I made all the side dishes and not only were they damn near perfect -- but they also went amazingly well together...It was such a good combination: 1. My newly made up black & mahogany rice - rice, walnuts, dried cherries, baby carrot shreds, chicken broth instead of water and a dash of nutmeg - was PERFECTION! Stuff I Need (or, Why My Computer's Pissing Me Off)...
So, I just basically spent more money on computer stuff than I have in a long time, and than I probably should in the first place. And I didn't even spend that much! Bought a new Seagate 1TB SATA drive to replace the 250GB PATA drive that was giving me issues (allegedly--it had bad blocks)... Bought a new CoolerMaster CM690 case (not bad for $80, highly recommend it, loads of cool stuff!) so that my drives won't get to 55C (that's 131F, fuck!), and bought another fan to help with cooling (four case fans in all right now). However, I'm still not seeing it run as fast as it should... I know I need to replace this shitty little 430watt Raidmax PSU with something better soon, but I doubt that's a major issue. No, I think that right now is the memory... I've got four sticks of RAM in there right now, two are 512MB sticks at PC2700 speeds... There's a 512MB PC3200, and a 256MB PC2700 or something... And I'm pretty sure that at least one of those sticks are slightly bad... S

last night i realized something... my cervical dysplasia has made itself known again i havent had this problem since i had Jessica my soon to be 7 yr old i had to go while pregnant with her to have it removed they did the cone thing on me which could have caused me to go into labor with her then but luckly it didnt. now its back and i cant do a damn thing about it i have to have money which i dont have i have no medical and if i dont get it taken care of its gonna go full blown cervical cancer. i cried myself to sleep lastnight when i realized that it was back coz the same feeling i had before down there is back and im not pregnant so i know its back why does this shit happen to me for i mean ever since i was little i was constantly sick in and out of the hospital and now still im constantly sick but all i can do is take like alka seltzer or when i get a lil bit of money get some sudafed or somethin but that shit my body has gotten use to so im shit outta luck. what the fuck am i gonna

So not that any one pays attention, I haven't writen in a blog in over a year. I use to write whatever came to mind and my best friend and at the time boyfriend (dick head we shall call him) would comment because well that is a part of their job titles. Hygiene People! Please I will be the first to admit that my pictures are not perfect. That being said.... I have been noticing more and more salutes with dirty nasty hands. WTH!?! Just back from London and I have to say I love the Soho Theatre more than ever, now it has moved downstairs to the cabaret space. I did miss Edinburgh Fringe which I unexpectedly fell in love with all over again by NOT doing a one woman show. I am sure I have bored you all about my happy time at Edinburgh. London was buzzing last week and I did miss all my comedy buddies and the vibe of the fringe, but I do also adore Soho and its unique blend of madness. I saw my favourite transvestite, the man who dresses as a milk maid on Saturday but is a traffic warden during the week. The past week in London was cracking fun, me and my pal Shirley caught up with my dear pal Monica and all my circle of pals in my fav city. Not done one of these for a while so just a quick update. Still sleeping on a sofa, still looking for a proper job.Got a tax refund, thought I had a job, things were looking up, but not completely for long. Have to actually apply for the job now rather than it being a sure thing, though I still may get lucky. Trying not to spend that money so I can use it to pay a deposit on a flat or flat share of my own in the near future once I get some regular income coming. Looking forward to the olympics, should still be stewarding there as long as I'm processed by the employers on time. Have a new Samsung Galaxy mini, what I'm using to get online. Other than that, things are kinda dull. At least I have a vague internet connection to stave off a little boredom now.

Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms/ Puffed Pastries
Stuffed mushrooms recipe Bag of baby spinach, washed (I get the organic)2 tbsp minced garlicquartered artichoke hearts cut up (2 cans)Cream cheese (i use fat free, or reduced fat) - 2 packsi can of cream of mushroom soup (I use my homemade, but that's a whole lot more difficult)half stick butteritalian cheese blendonion powder and garlic powder (optional) Over Medium heat: Melt the butter, and saute the spinach, artichoke and minced garlic. Once the spinach is cooked down, add the cream cheese. Stir frequently. Once the cream cheese is completely melted, add the cream of mushroom soup, and half a cup of the italian cheese blend. Sprinkle onion powder and garlic powder to taste.Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes. For stuffed mushrooms:Get portabello caps. Clean them and remove stems.
