What Was I Thinking
As most of you who read my mindless yappings know, my back and hip is in bad shape. I had a week where things seemed on the upswing, then a relapse, but in that period, I decided that no matter how much it hurts, I have to start doing normal things, within reason. Which means, if there is something I can do that I don't have to sit for extended periods of time, squat, bend over, run, lift heavy things, or sleep for over 5 hours...or have sex...I'm your man. So of course, my mom immediately wants me to put together a glider she bought. That takes 4 of the six. My wife comes up with a honey do list, which entails all six of the actions. Painting By Irrational Numbers
I wasn’t around my typical online haunts yesterday (oh, blogless Tuesday, woe, blogless Tuesday!) because I was painting the inside of the office where I work. My boss Ray supplied two gallons of pearl finish latex paint, two mixers, two rollers, etc. and I supplied the labor. I wouldn’t have admitted it at the start of the day, but I had to agree with one customer my mid-afternoon; painting is relaxing. From eleven in the morning when I got to the office to a quarter to six at night – I leave work at seven, so I put in eight-hour days – I painted over brickwork and corkboard so when you walk into my office now it’s much whiter. How I Hate Mid August
It is fast approaching, August 14th. My lil girl would be 14 this year.How interesting my life would be with two teen girls. However, that was not meant to be. I finally get to home today after 6 long ass days in the hospital. I had MRSA for those of you who don't know what that is its a really bad staph infection, that could potentially can cause death, or the amputation of my leg. She and her husband run it, and they have some of the best, freshest seafood I've ever had. So I made this last night, and it turned out pretty tasty! I figured I'd share. You need: - Uncooked shrimp (preferably fresh, not frozen) - Worcestershire sauce* - Lemon juice - Garlic - Rosemary - Butter, melted (about 1 stick) * Personally, I find this to be the most fun ingredient, because it's so damn hard to say. If you don't think it's hard to say, take a shot of Tequila and try again. It's fun! You do: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Wash the shrimp and put them in a Pyrex baking pan. Pour on the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and butter, enough to cover the shrimp roughly halfway. Add the garlic and rosemary, to taste. (I used minced garlic and just put a bunch on top. Hello everyone... to answer all the questions, yes, I am still in the hospital. Mostly here for some tests and overnight observations. There is no diagnosis and it is very frustrating. It seems to be an issue with my vascular system. But, nobody knows what at this point. I might be having some transfusions soon. I know that I had sepsis earlier this year and was hospitalized for that for a week. It could be a rebound of that but is not going away with any antibiotics. It is very frustrating to be here believe me. And my poor husband is very frustrated too. I am hoping that with the time I have been having in here that I would have some inspiration to write some stories but there just is no inspiration to write at all. A Day At The Office

Things could be better for me in life but I guess that I just get the messed up end of the stick. I try so hard to straighten up my life and still I somehow get knocked down to the bottom. My 100th Dive (cozumel Trip)
My 100th Dive 7/25-7/28 2008 Back in North Carolina, I booked my 96th Dive. SingleDivers.com was having the re-do of the Cozumel/Cenotes/Holbox trip, I was able to find some inexpensive airfare, so I came down for the weekend to do the Cozumel portion. We stayed at Casa Del Mar. I arrived on Friday, checked in at the dive shop (DelMarAquatics) and did a shore dive that afternoon with two of the women on the trip. The dive was suprisingly good. First we went and blew bubbles at the glass bottom boat. Then we followed the fish over to the snorkelers watching a couple get very territorial with each other. After the snorkelers left, we then hear this loud noise and in comes the Atlantis submarine. This is my third shore dive in the last couple of years and the marine life seems to be getting better each time. We ate at La Chorzo that night to celebrate the birthday of one of our divemasters, Fernando. I had a great fish filet, and they put a candle in the flan for Fernando's b'day

For Troops
I sat in my seat of the Boeing 767 waiting for everyone to hurry and stow their carry-ons and grab a seat so we could start what I was sure to be a long, uneventful flight home. With the huge capacity and slow moving people taking their time to stuff luggage far too big for the overhead and never paying much attention to holding up the growing line behind them, I simply shook my head knowing that this flight was not starting out very well. Here are my top 10 favorite movies of all time. As with my songs, this rotates weekly. As you can tell by my reviews, I do like watching movies...alot. 1) Resoivoir Dogs---I love this movie. I like the pace, I love the acting, and Mr Blonde is incredible. I've probably seen the movie 100 times, and because it was filmed on such a shoestring budget, I like seeing all the flubs and flaws. But the story is incredible, and introduced us to Tarantino's style. 2) Clerks---Kevin Smith's first, and best movie. He filmed it maxing out his credit cards. This flip flops with Resoivoir Dogs as my favorite movie, depending on what I've seen last. Highly quoteable. Our liscense plate comes from a quote in this movie. 3) Pulp Fiction---You have to see it about 5 times to appreciate the timeline, and then it blows your mind. Ok I have been thinking long and hard because I have a date a little over a week from now and I have been stressing out and everything but I mean I am beautiful. My Mom
Well mom finally got to come home on July 4th:) We are so happy to have her home & she is doing much better recovering there than when she was in the hospitals. Not that they didn't take great care of her, but she was getting depressed after being gone for almost 3 months. Today dad & I took her to Pittsburgh for a follow up. The Dr. (the one that saved her life, not the one that almost killed her twice) has ordered another MRI, more Blood work & a series of spine x-rays. He said he was surprised to see how well she looked & that she was able to sit up as long as she was. He showed us the pictures from the CAT scan she recently had. Up until now I have been able to hold myself together pretty well but what I saw & heard today brought tears to my eyes & if mom hadn't been in the room I probably would have just broke down & cried. His main concern right now is that when the other Dr. went in the 2nd time & took out all but one of the screws & plates he put in during the 1st surg

Msrain's Birthday Weekend
It was a spontaneous thing to do.. but I decided to take MsRain to the Pacific Ocean for her birthday. I just came into the house from working outside, said get a few things together we are leaving. She asked me where we were going and I told her... THE BEACH! You should have seen the look of surprise on her face, it was beautiful. She was so excited, never having seen the Ocean before. So she got some things together and we left for the coast. We went down Hwy 30 in Oregon all the way to Astoria and then headed south on Hwy 101. As we cruised down the coastal highway we came across a nice little state park to take a break at... Ecola State Park. There she got her first look at the Pacific Ocean. While we were there, there were ELK grazing by the park; not more than a 100 feet away. She had never seen them before (at least not that up close & personal). Looong Interview
Marlboro State Hospital 1977 age 18 I was taken by ambulance to JSMC where I tried to escape admission by running across the parking lots with foam slippers and signing in with obscenity's. From there at night I was taken by ambulance to MPH. On the way with the lights going they asked me if I had any last requests, I remembered the mercury poisoning in the lakes north of here and told them all the useful things to do with mercury like thermometers and electronic thermo-switches. As I was bought into the carport they had me stripped and showered and took all m y belongings for state issued hospital wear. They interviewed me and gave me some pills. I don't remember why I was there but did not answer up to drug or drinking inquiries from the male nurse. I was placed in a room with around fifty people who were all waiting to see the doctor most of them in hospital gowns and a few of them showing all. Issues With My Left Kidney
I am not sure what is going on yet. Trying to get doctors to tell me. But My left kidney has had some type of damage done to it. I knew it was slightly smaller than the other, but it has gotten even smaller within the past year. To give you a little bit of details my right kidney is of normal size which is 10.1x3.4x4.8cm. My left kidney measured 8.3x4.0x3.2cm last year. this last renal kidney scan showed it now measures 7.3x2.8x2.4cm. I am not sure what is going to happen or if there is even a chance yet that it could happen to the other good kidney. But I am still continuing with college. Can't let this slow me down on the career I want to get into. If you could just keep me in your prayers. And anyone one who has any thoughts or have had this happen to them please let me know. Nothing Special
Dark Comments & Graphics Today has been one the most depressing bdays every. Started with a phone call from my boss at 7 a.m. to tell me the bitch I dont like called off so now I have to do all my treatments and hers too. Impossible! There are so many minutes in a day and with therapy you have so many minutes to each treatment and you have to do them all. Then I saw a note the bitch had left on the boss's desk about me not doing my shit. So I called my boss who reassured me I was doing great and she was so glad to have me! Haha I think the other bitch is just worried I will take her spot. Then I had some family issues and what not so just oveall not a good day! Grrr now somebody hug me b4 I slit my wrist.

I found out today that Tippy, my baby girl, has cancer. I will meet with the oncologist to discuss possible treatment and prognosis. If there is no prognosis with a quality of life after the treatment, then I will have to have her put down. So if I am not around or available for a bit, this is why. Setting the Scene The Seahawks' training facility sits on a clearing behind Northwest University in Kirkland, Wash. When the sun is out, as it was Monday on a 70-degree afternoon, the word spectacular quickly comes to mind. The three practice fields -- two grass, one artificial -- are framed by colorful foliage and towering trees. You'd be hard-pressed to paint a more tranquil setting. Then you hear the thud of colliding pads and the bark of energetic assistant coaches. So much for Shangri-La. Practices are closed to the public because of a scarcity of parking, but that won't be a problem next year when the team is in its new training facility just down the road in Renton. The complex -- which the club actually moves into Aug. 18 -- is a stunning blend of nature and architecture. My uncle passed away over the weekend. He'd been fighting with Leukemia for some time and had just had a bone marrow transplant. He seemed to be winning. His counts were going up. He was eating more and had more energy. His wounds were healing. His hair was growing back. Then...overnight he was just...gone. This is first time I've lost someone close in the family. I can't go to the funeral because it will be out of state and I won't get paid if I miss work. I feel miserable that I can't go.
