The Fairy Bush
When I was a child I visited some family in Ireland. I had a great aunt who lived on a farm. Well the Irish have a belief in fairies. I love the stories, its a very rich folkloric culture. There was a field on her farm and the only thing in the field was a large bush, called The Fairy Bush. A bush with long thorns. The legend is that you can't climb it without getting scratched, because the fairies will scratch you. I told my aunt I wanted to go out to the fairy bush, she said well you'd better watch out for the fairies!! I remember the mischievous look in her eyes as she said that. :) We went out to the field and I looked up at the fairy bush. It was tall and very large around, who knows how old it was. I looked at the big long thorns sticking out all over. I didn't try to climb it, I was afraid of the fairies. I think the fairy bush is a metaphor for life. I'm thinking that home is the best cure for my thoughts and feelings at this point and to just get away from a whole bunch of things that have really become issues in my life and have broke my spirit and my heart. Katrina Part 2
This is an email I sent my family on Sept 24, 2005. The hurricane hit on Aug 29. For a good while after Katrina, a cloudy day made for the weathermen take over all frequencies and nothing else happened. I could not enjoy the Bama game as our local cBS affiliate interrupted the ENTIRE STINKING GAME, and are still at it, prattling endlessly about...rain, and it wasn't even raining until I went out to get something to drink after the Bama game ended, whereupon the heavens opened in grand deluge. Now that I am back home it is sunny. (almost) Lucky for the cBS affiliate, the Bazooka Shell store was closed today. They have been jibbering since at least 11AM when I tuned in, it is now 3:30. These are some musings...and they're random, and pointless... It's 2:20am, I can't sleep. Damn neckbrace won't let me get comfy. I wish I had Mountain Dew. If I'm gonna be kept awake, at least let it be an alert kind of awake. Instead of this drowsy awakeness I got bc of the tylenols I took 3 hours ago. Friends mean a lot to me, and so does my girlfriend. Nuff said. I need to get out tomorrow. I may not have much chance, if my neck doesn't get better. I hate needing this brace. My Hurrican Experience
This is an email I sent to my family, four days after the storm that changed life here in Mussuppy forever. The worst is over...we have survived, and the power is back on at our house...have not been able to get hold of Dad since Monday, has anyone heard from him?!? A few quick personal notes: A 50 foot sturdy-looking Poplar tree fell in the back yard, while the eye was still somewhere near the coast...missed the house by less than a foot....meanwhile, out front there are two big wobbly old pines, one has a broken branch that teeters with the slightest of breeze, I have been waiting for it to fall for years...the tree, and the branch are still there...go figure..anyone need any firewood? Anyone know how to chop up several thousand board-feet of tree in a confined space? will ive spent 5 days here at Duke Unvi to have test done on me and 2 see if there was any other type of chemo therpy that will help me. the treatment im doing know has my face so messed up, my fingertips and toenails bleeding all the time. i cant wear tennis shoes all i can wear right now is sandels and flip flops. they also told me i dont have much time either like 3 years or less. the cancer in my lungs are 2 small to take out and they are on bot lungs and there is to many. all they can do is control them with chemo therpy and once my body gets use to the meds they have 2 change up but they dont have many to change with

I sit here trying to figure everything out. Why things happen the way that shit happens. Why is that everybody else thinks they know how to fix my problems. Roller Coaster
When I was a child too small to ride, I would stand and longingly stare at the roller coasters, my older brother always rode on. I remember standing there sad that I couldn't ride too. Oh how I wanted to be big enough. Funny thing is, when I got "big enough" I became to chicken to ride! At the parks, I avoid the lines of the screaming monsters. tee hee Some roller coasters cannot be avoided though....parts of LIFE is a roller coaster. My ride has been a real doozy here lately. So, I was driving to Tasha's t ball game tuesday evening when I hear "Whooooop" Cop car. I'm like, WTF? I wasn't even speeding. So, he's like blah blah blah, tail light out, blah blah blah. Runs my license right? Keep in mind i have been pulled over like 20 times in the past few years... and worked in a prison... yadda yadda ya. Right? WEll, he comes back to the car, and says "Robin Cropper?" I go, "Yeeees" he is like can you please step out of the car" LIke a dumb shit I go "Why" He said "Ma'm can you please just step out of the car." By this point a second cop had arrived... he goes "Robin Cropper, you are under arrest." I freaked the fuck out, and started bawling... i was like why the fuck for?!?!? SO apparently i had a warrant from 2003. Seriously. I'm like hello!?!?!? SO i was in jail over night. For 24 hours actually... in jail... seriously. OMFG, I cried like a fucking baby the entire time. When I was a young boy, not even a teenager, a family moved into the house behind ours. They had a young teenage girl. Bayou Self
So my best friend invited me fishing with him at a camp. I start loading up his truck with our gear and then I can't find my tackle box. My brand new tacklebox with all the new gear and bait I had bought. So instead of looking forever, I decide to just get in the truck and go. On the way there I realize that my friend has no tackle box at all lol. Oh well, between my 3 rods and his 1, we should have enough with us to fish for a few hours, no big deal. He hooks a fish and it breaks his line. I offer up one of mine but because he never really learned how to fish or rig things up, I go to the truck so I can show him. I forgot my knife and he didnt have one so we had to use a lighter to cut the string, etc. While we're blocking the wind with the truck, for the lighter, a huge gust of wind comes up and blows my chair from the camp to the water. It had my hat and cell phone in it :-( So after cursing and fussing for a few minutes, I finish setting up the new leader and such.

Home From Hospital
I was discharged this afternoon from the hospital where I was diagnosed having severe pneumonia and sepsis. What a combination. My husband said on Monday I was delirious and severely wheezing when I breathed while in bed. He said I would not wake up until he woke me Monday at 1:30 pm and drove me to the ER here. Now I will be going to my doctor on Monday as a follow up to my hospital stay. There seems to be an underlying heart issue going on too for the doctor in the hospital had some concerns on some cardiac numbers. But, the first thing they wanted to do was get rid of the pneumonia and sepsis so they loaded me up on mega doses of antibiotics 24/7 for the past four days. I am feeling better but not 100% yet. Mom Gravely Ill
My mom has been in the hospital for 8-9 weeks now going back and forth from ccu to the regular hospital room to the rehab center and back into ccu. This time, she hasnt awaken yet since saturday, 3-29-08 and still unresponsive. Doctor said "be prepared" Me and my brothers contacted all family and friends about this and as i walked around my house, a few things saddened me a lot. 1. Her shoes and slippers she will never see again 2. Her pocketbook that i never went into, i may have to go in soon. 3. All her medicine will have to be thrown away. 4. All pictures of her grandkids she will never recognize or see again. All of theses small thing meant a lot to her and me and now reallity is going to take place and i have to be ready for this. Broke My Neck This Week.
Yes after 4 days of pain in my neck, I confirmed today what my worst fears were had happened. I broke 2 vertabrae in my neck. My C-1 is definitely broken, while C-2 either is, or was, broken. MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Hendrick Motorsports flexed its muscles Sunday, but Denny Hamlin's team made the right call in the pits, propelling the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to victory in the Goody's Cool Orange 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Taking fuel only to pole-sitter Jeff Gordon's four tires and fuel on the final pit stop for both drivers on Lap 388, Hamlin beat Gordon out of the pits for a restart on Lap 394, after Ken Schrader's Toyota spread oil on the track to bring out the 18th and final caution of the race. Work
Okay, I've had a bad day today at work. I work at a grocery store and we had a 12 hour meat sale so it was a little busy but of couse alot of big orders that are two carts full of groceries. I had a big order and had two carts full. No one bothers to come help me with it until after I'm done. I asked one of my co workers to help me and he went on to do another order. Now I have always helped him with two cart orders but he wouldn't help me and I was nice to him and everything. The whole day made me frustrated and I am so glad that I have the next three days off.

Blood Test
Well, me and hubby went to the Pathology lab and got the blood pregnancy test done. Have about 1.5 or 2 hours left before I can call and get then results. I really don't know which way to hope. I really want a baby so.. pregnancy would be great.. BUT.. me and hubby decided to wait so not prego would be good.. except... if I am not prego.. then why is my body being evil to me. oh and the damn woman couldn't find my damn vein so she dug... then she switched arms. well on the second arm.. She Comes Home
It's funny...When your kids are growing up..you can't wait for them to get out on their own..and give you some peace... I can't wait for mine to come home...And my oldest daughter is coming home...Before I moved her out..things were pretty rough...My house was nothing but drama...We all suffered...
