Okay - I don't get it. I understand the "haters" on here that feel like they have to rate people 1 to try to make themselves feel better, but to rate a picture of my *cat* a 1 ? What's up with that? Is someone a closet cat hater? No comment recently about her, just a rating of 1. Should I be offended? Should I take insult? My cat is absolutely stunning, by all standards, including her CFA Persian registration. I have been a camera buff pretty much all my life. I'm pretty good. I was fortunate to have Jim Broyles, a friend that influenced me early about the basics of black and white photography while I was stationed at Finthen Army Air Field in Germany during 1965-66. I enjoy making personal and candid portraits of people, and then giving them the photo as a free gift; asking IF they will pass on this small kindness whenever they are able to, to someone else, some time in the future. When I recieved the painted cat photos yesterday from my Aunt I couldn't believe that people would actually do that to their cats. I love cats, I believe though they should look like cats, not clowns and certainly not to be colored. Cats have a natural beauty. If you would not paint your face to look like a clown and go around like that all your life why should your cat. Well I'm getting to do my dream shoot, which is a retro Marily Monroesque shoot. My regular photographer is hooking me up with a fellow photographer who is still in school. He has an assignment to do a retro shoot, but needed a model. Well when my usual photographer told me that I jumped all over it. I'm so excited. I have to set up an appointment to get my hair done, and I have to go wardrobe shopping, we're thinking 2-3 wardrobe changes, I have to make sure I have a makeup artist. GOD so much to do before Monday, but I'm too excited to stress. I'm so nervous and excited, I'm losing it. Anyway, off for now to find some hair style ideas and costume ideas... So as many of u know i went away this past weekend. while i was there i found out that some of my photos had been presented to the Calgary Zoo for consideration for marketing. Turns out that they are considering using some of my photos for their promotions (color me shocked). 2500 Photos?
I see that when you pay to get the VIC status your photo count limit is suppose to jump up to 2500. However, anyone's profile I have been in that is a VIC shows 255 of 2500 photos. Nobody has more than 255. So how do you get the 2500? Or is it just false advertising?

Until a friend returns an e-mail in which I asked her specifically for permission to use an image she made for me on another site (and allowed me to use on another, but that didn't nec. translate to use elsewhere), I'm putting it in a private folder. (Also took one image out of that private folder and back into default; I thought it had been destroyed and unreadable and almost deleted it, but the server, it turns out, was only having, well, image delivery issues at the time. Looking again now, it's relatively fine.)

Photo Uploading Problems!
I don't know why, but for some reason my browser (Firefox, before you suggest I "use that instead") keeps freezing up whenever I try to upload photos. I have no idea what is causing this & I've asked for help in the Fubar Support lounge & got told to defrag, etc., which I've already done. I can only assume that perhaps some photos I already uploaded were too large in file size, so I think I may try deleting those & see if the problem goes away, but I doubt it will help, so I guess you won't be seeing any new photos of me anytime in the near future... at least not here. Edit: Apparently, I have to use AM Browser in order to upload photos on fubar. Talk about a pain in the ass! Well, at least I can upload photos anyhow... I just wish I could understand why my pet can upload photos using Firefox on his computer, but I can't on my (newer & better) computer. Stupid fubar!! :(

I am not a 10, nor do I ever believe I will be. I think I'm around a 6 or a 7. What I don't get is why people automatically have been rating me a ten, when on other websites my average is around 4.5. I would rather have people be honest. I'm honest when I rate photos, so why isn't everyone else? I think it's rather lame that so many people can't be honest about what they think of others on here. Wow!! Things change in amazing ways... I have been selected to do a traveling photo display about people with diabetis... It is called "Meet the Faces of Change"... and i am not photogenic at all, darn i can't even spell that word, lol... I have to say that its annoying when people get so upset if you rate there picture anything other than a 10. If its a crappy picture don't put it on here or it will get rated low numbers. The rating is only for that picture not anyone as a person. But yet people still get all bent out of shape over it.That just shows how insecure and how childish people can be.

After reading people's profiles and chatting to them, I have found there are some terrific people on fubar. Some of these I spoke to before uploading a picture of myself. I have wondered how much we all actually rely on a photograph of someone. I was rated a low number this evening by somebody relatively new that still had a bag on their head! I asked them how they could rate and hope they would be rated with no pic. Not knowing me, they didn't understand the humour. They were certain that when their pic is uploaded it will 'knock my socks off'. That ended the discussion. Does everyone on fubar take everything at face value or do they 'check out' profiles and have chats? Makes you wonder why fubar is classed as a chat room.

I have taken the time to rate all photos and stash before I ask for a friend and fan request. I have about 4 of the 9 friends I have that have returned the love. I even check back daily and rate anything new and rate new people till I run out of rates. I don't expect you to rate everything I have unless you want to do that but some rates would be nice. I have another Fubar account that I will be deleting soon because I did the same thing and that is not rating everyone like I should have. I plan to do it right this time and would like to get to know you. You can never have enough friends. The bottom line is I will start deleting the people who don't return some rates and I think that is the only fair way to do it. Photo Flagged Nsfw !
I have just had a 'slap on the wrist' from fubar becaus someone reported one of my photo's NSFW. It is in my 'all things Christmas' album and it is the cow with the mistletoe round it's neck wearing reindeer antlers. It is actually an ornament you can buy but i posted the pic some time ago. Please can someone explain to me why this picture has been flagged NSFW cos i can't understand it. I personally have seen photo's in peoples albums that most definitely should be flagged but they aren't and i haven't reported them to fubar. Thanks for listening. Lin (celticrose)

I wasn't happy about it so i went to the support lounge and a nice bouncer had a look for me and said that he didn't know why it had been flagged in the first place so he unflagged it. It's nice to see that fubar works right sometimes !!

well, it seems that sometime yesterday the ratings on the pics disappeared. What does this mean? It means you can go back and rate all of my pics again. lol. That is, if you want to, of course. :-) update... this just in from a friend of a friend... "in an effort to get people to start helping their friends out more, and to get people levelled faster, babyj fixed it so that your ratings (the actual numbers) wont get wiped, but people can re-rate all your pics on a weekly basis... or somewhere thereabouts"

Photo Beads Materials: Clear marbles (the ones with one flat side, can be found at any craft store) Cardboard photo index cards Clear Silicone or PVA (white)craft glue or modge podge. Instructions: These photo beads are a great way to use up the small photo index cards you receive with photo processing. Cut a piece of cardboard or paper backing the size of your marble. Then glue your image onto the cardboard. Then Glue the marble to the top side of the picture so that you can still see the picture. Let it dry. When the glue dries you will be able to see the picture through the marble. Then use these beads as magnets or jewelry pieces. You can wire wrap them or adhere them to frames for some fun projects. I love looking at and rating photos on fubar, but there are a few things some people should know before posting pictures. So, since I love stating my opinion and declaring myself an expert on everything, here are a few tips. 1) Make sure it's in focus and not blurry. Most all digital cameras have an automatic timer on it, and you can pick up a tripod at wal-mart for next to nothing. Trust me, it's worth the investment. Blurry photos are a little annoying. 2) Take a good look at your backdrop before posting a pic. You may be a very attractive person, but sitting in a messy room with old frito bags and dirty clothes everywhere lessens the impact of your picture. 3) Post several pictures of yourself. That way you give people a true and honest profile of yourself. 4) The morph photos are kinda cool, but they get pretty annoying. It's nice you can morph from yourself to a wolf or Cameron Diaz, but it doesn't give me a chance to see what YOU really look like. Post other normal p

Photo Shoot
I did my first photo shoot yesturday and boy I was terrified and excited! I wanted the pictures to justice to the two beautiful people, but as it was my first, I wasn't so sure I had what it took. They showed up mostly on time and I introduced Alicia to Jono. They seemed to be very nervous of each other as most drop deads are and took a while to settle in. My nerves didn't disappear until after the shoot was finished and I started editing. I don't think it helped that I had an entourage as well... A bag and cloths girl, a driver, two models and various on lookers. It went well and a couple of close friends got to see me at work.
