Memmel said after the U.S. women won the silver medal in team gymnastics Wednesday that she’d been competing with a broken bone in her right ankle. Ok so most people close to me know that I work for Citibank and that Im in Customer Service. I get to talk to ALOT of people and I mean ALOT of people every day and for the most part I enjoy some of the conversations. I talk to people of all ages from all over the country. Some don't speak English very well but you learn to communicate and sometimes you even have to use an "interpreter line" called "Language line" It amazes me and amuses me how I can say something in English like "Do you have your account number please?" and the Mandarin/Chinese interpreter pretty much says about 5 paragraphs to explain that one sentence I said. These calls take patience but most go ok. I really enjoy talking to about 90 percent of the senior citizens because I dont know if its because alot of people lack patience with them or what but they ALWAYS and I mean 85% of the time say "Oh thank you SO MUCH Paula. I Think To Much

Again this one happened when I was 13/14 ish. On my way home from school was pushed into someone's front garden by 5 or so older kids. Tossed 'em 50p (all I had anyway) so I could get outta there. Is it just another boring day or is this something everyone should envy? My Daughters Audition
Yes my daughter had her audition for American Idol, and she didn't make it which I am still just as proud of her anyway... not important, but the reasoning s and what goes on at these are a whole other story. We spent 5 hours Monday in line and getting inside to register for this audition, and that went fine they give you a seat ticket for the one auditioning and one person friend or parent there for you. Today Aug 13, 2008 we got there again at 5 am to find out the rules that say there will be no camping out or early line up was broke by hundreds so by the time we got there the line was as long as it could possibly go. It rained and we got wet.. but made in inside the Arena. When they do the auditions the have 24 producers that they split up and put two at each desk about 20 ft apart with a small partition wall between them. This is all set up in the center of the arena. They divide the people auditioning into 4 lines in front of each desk, so each group is judged by a diff

Lessons To Learn
Why is it that I tend to fall so easily for someone and before I know it, something comes up that blows the feelings and thoughts out of the water. I don't wish to reveal much in this blog, but lets just say there was someone on here ( isn't it always ) that I kinda just fell head over heals for. We started talking on IMs and she did something that kinda puzzled me. ( on cam ) I asked if it was for me, she said it was for her GF in another state. Oooh. Nothing wrong with that. How Stupid Can One Be??
A teenage employee celebrated his birthday by taking a bath in the utility sink at the Burger King in Xenia. Greene County Health Commissioner Mark McDonnell was emailed the video that appeared on MySpace.com and is now using it as evidence. In the video, the employee dumps water on himself using a bucket marked with the words, "sanitary solution." But McDonnell said the sink is used to clean utensils and there is nothing sanitary about what the teenager did. McDonnell said, "Any bacteria on his skin could have been deposited giving people food poisoning." And to make matters worse, the person recording the video allegedly told the Burger King manager what was happening, but she continued to count cash. Officials at the Burger King Corp. were notified of the incident Monday, and is cooperating fully with the health department. HOW STUPID CAN ONE BE?? Saddens My Heart...
This afternoon I received a phone call from the fiance of one of my very very best friends telling me that she had passed away due to a drug overdose. This came hard for me to accept because maybe I didn't know she was into this hard of a drug, or maybe it was that I just turned the cheek at it... I know that she has been involved with my children and has participated in recent "Drug use" talks with my children as well. It really just saddens my heart about the whole thing ... After telling my children, you could see the hurt and the pain in their eyes. My son looks at me and asks me... "Mom how could she say all those things about drugs, when she was using them herself." The only answer I could come up with was Maybe she was speaking from experience and this was her cry for help... OK...so a wonderful friend of mine was in a contest for a VIP. *~BABYGIRL~* and the Force 3 Bombers were bombing the h3ll outta her to help her win, and someone else in the contest complained about her winning. It is told that a group of young girls had to be left behind in hiding as the tribe had to pack up and move quickly due to imminent danger. When the girls came out of hiding and went in search of the tribe, they came upon an injured wolf. After nursing the wolf back to health, they became adopted by the entire pack of wolves, who saved them from danger many times as the girls continued their search for the rest of their tribe. Not understanding that the wolves were actually protecting their daughters, they slew them one and all. I can't believe I have survived almost a year in school. As of October, it will be 1 year and I will be starting my sophomore year. I have been given the chance to add a 2nd major to my degree program and I am stuck between Psychology and PR / Marketing. Update - 8/13/08
Just got back from visiting dad in the hospital. Quite a bit has happened since my last update, but I didn't want to be overbearing with so many updates! Long story short, he had two surgeries since my last update. First, he had a procedure on his prostate...something that probably should have been done years ago. Yesterday, they put in his new knee replacement. So, needless to say, he is on morphine today to ease the pain, but they have already started physical therapy. What all this means, I guess, is that he is doing much better in that the blood poison has been rectified. He has received 6 units of blood in the past two weeks because he is anemic. The doctors seem to feel that because of his age, fresh blood will rectify that condition more quickly than just using medication...dunno if that's true, but that's what the nurse told me today! All in all, he looks SO much better than he did and is in very good spirits, considering the circumstances. Thank you ALL for y

This weekend we were occupied by traveling to Bismarck, the state capital where most of Martha’s aunt, uncles, and cousins live, to see her uncle Stanley for what we fear will be the last time. The next few days of school blurred together, every morning i'd walk down to the first grade hall and wait to be called into the classroom, and then, when the final student was called, a teacher would walk me down to the principals office, I'd get paddled, and then walked down to class where i'd sit alone in a chair until dismissal. Olympics First 5 Days
Probably not surprising to those who have grown to know me, I really love the Olympics. I think it's an incredibly wonderful event and I try to watch absolutely all that I can. I am 33 years old. I have a 14 year old son, Brad. Together we will ride across the country on our bicycles from Astoria, Oregon to Ocean City, Maryland. We will embark on our journey the first week in June of 2010 and plan on making it across in 8 weeks. Some may ask, why are we doing this? Just an update for those who know me.... I had to make an emergency run to Rochester MN yesterday.....my ex needed to be transported to one of the Mayo Clinic's hospitals for admission. He had an Echocardiogram yesterday morning and the Docs didn't like what they found. They also think he has bacterial endocarditis....a bacterial infection in the heart tissue. And his blood pressure is off the charts....that is nothing new! So, Bill (my ex) is looking at lots of nasty tests today, lots of meds for the infection and BP,....and ultimately surgery for the two heart valves that are damaged. He is not a happy camper! I have a full compliment of clients to treat today, tired as I am. Hopefully I won't have to make another flying trip to Rochester today.....I will plan to be there for the surgery, given some warning. Life is an interesting thing.... An Appointment
I have an appointment the 18th with my Neurosurgeon, and his assosiate. It's at the same place my wife went to a few weeks ago. When she went, she met with hers, and it was very casual. When she got there, he told her she was on the mend, and he could have told her that over the phone. So I explained that to the nurse, and asked her if it was something that could be handled over the phone, and she said no. So it must be something good. The reason I asked was because its a little over an hour to get there, and me days that can be torture. My pain has let up a little the last few days. I really think being on my feet for 12 hours on Sunday helped. I need to walk more, and push myself. So that is where I am at. I have constant pain, but its been a dull throb lately. I'll take that over the stabbing, sharp pains I went thru most the last three months.

Hey all Just droppin by to update ya all. Sophie turns 7 on the 20th and Sophie and maggie both are going to school this september. i cant wait, i am moving into my own place in a week.. i am soo HAPPY!! im at home now with my son's, the girls are camping, i miss em. but anyways, Finally my marriage to rod is ALMOST done, our divorce papers are FILED..YAY!! I'm currently seein my best friend Jordian, hes the best guy I've ever had in my life, hes kind, sweet, he treats me and the kid's good. Hes currently fighting cancer, hes going through chemo therapy..:( but hes doing ok. I miss him, but i will see him sunday, i cant wait. Garlic, Basil, Oregano, Summer Savory, Marjoram, Crushed Red Pepper, Parsley, Rosemary, and Thyme. No it's not a Simon and Garfunkle song. Well it is, but not this time. I love cooking, REAL cooking. Doing everything from scratch, nothing from a jar or can. Italian or Cajun cooking are a couple of my passions. So a dinner date where I get to do the cooking and we get to do the eating, and we're each others dessert....mouth watering. Getting back from the market, I got myself in gear. A lot to do with very little time to get it done. Cooking Italian is simple but oh so time consuming, the way I cook anyhow. Starting with cold pressed extra virgin Olive oil, meaning fresh from the tree to the olive press. It has the best flavor. Placing all the spices into my food processor then placing them into the pan before adding just a touch of the oil over a low heat. Doing this brings the full flavors alive. Awaking their hidden secrets, bringing them together in a symphony of flavor.

Holy hell, I can't breathe! Why does it seem that some of the most beautiful scenery in our great country is up so high there is almost no air. To make matters worse when it does take your breath away, you had so little to begin with. So many people have tried to describe the Colorado wilderness, and very few have seem to be able to capture their Majesty in words. The crisp air, the whisper of the Aspen trees, and the hidden treasures found among the valleys. You ever have to travel far to find ponds or streams and rivers chalk full or rainbow and brown trout. Wildlife abounds through the mountains. It had taken quite awhile to drive from the city out to the middle of nowhere. Even leaving in the late morning on a Friday, by the time we had arrived and set up camp, we were wiped out for the night. To just lay next to her soaking up the sun, basking in the glow of passion. But it was time to head back to camp. The worst part was getting back into the snow melt stream naked and making our way back to shore. With gasps and giggles we got to our clothes and dressed in a hurry and on our way. WOW! Now that was fun. What a way to end the day. Start off driving through the hill country and finishing it off naked in the middle of nowhere. The sun was beginning to drop in the west and the wind was picking up. Slowly removing ourselves from each other was almost painful. Slowly I withdrew from her and got off the bike. Extending a hand and helping her off as well as allowing her to get her legs again. Reluctanly we got dressed and back on the bike. As we slowly glided along the road the only sound was the rumble of the bike and the wind whistling by our ears. The temprature was slowly dropping and it was getting cold. Now that's the way I like to shower,lol. I love spoiling my girl and sometimes just making it all about her. After showering we took a short nap,then dressed for dinner. Nothing special mind you,but clean clothes. I love how my toy smells. The perfume is so light and airy,not sweet and over powering. Moving On
Well, as some of you know, I will be moving to New Zealand soon, October 27th to be exact. I am hyper excited about it! I'll be starting a dream job and also seeing Ange for the first time. I still am coming to terms with it, it seems so surreal. My new job is basically a contract job for three local investors in a project involving a new type of polymer, to be used in the medical field. It's a big deal for them and the company has a three year contract with them. I hope by that time, I can establish some local connections for a job, hopefully in the same field. And while all this is going on, Ange and I will be enjoying each others company. =)

Pain
What is pain? It could be so many different things for so many different people. Pain can be a broken arm or leg, a tattoo, or any kind of physical injury. I think the worst kind is mental or inner pain. Going through a divorce is painful yes but I think its even worse when the kids are getting hurt. If you love your kids and you see them hurting because of what you have done or your spouse, if your any kind of parent it will hurt you too. I'm going through an ugly divorce trying to get my 2 children and what hurts the most is seeing the kind of pain and suffering they're going through.
