What A Weekend

Perry Father Executes His Two Kids, Kills Himself
PERRY --GA Two children are dead Saturday after being shot by their father, who then turned the gun on himself. The man also shot the children's mother, who was his wife, and her stepfather, authorities said. Their injuries were not fatal. Perry Police Chief George Potter said 36-year-old Michael Lee Hill shot his two sons, Michael Anthony Hill, 7, and Richard Lawrence Hill, 10, execution style shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the home of his estranged wife's parents. Hill was at the home reportedly to pick up his sons for a visit. "Instead of picking them up, he used a (9 mm semi-automatic) gun to kill his sons," Potter said. The couple had been separated for an undetermined length of time. HIWASSEE, Ga. -- A 48-year-old motorcyclist is dead after she collided with a horse on Georgia highway 75 near the state's northern border. Towns County coroner Rickey Mathis said Beth Bennick of Buford was pronounced dead at the scene of Sunday's wreck. Mathis said the horse was also killed on impact. Actor Morgan Freeman is injured in car accident By HOLBROOK MOHR, Associated Press Writer 18 minutes ago Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman is in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., on Monday after being seriously injured in a car accident near his home in Mississippi. it's the school holidays, so I took my daughter on a trip to London. When we got there, we wandered around the 'Square Mile', the financial centre where I used to work. I was interested in finding out how different the area had changed, and I pointed out various new buildings, statues and small historic churches snuggled amongst the office complexes. My daughter made the usual 'Yeah nice mum' and 'Did you?' comments. Realising this was probably more interesting for me than her, we headed towards the West End for some retail therapy. Dumb Move!
Well, I had a horrible weekend. I started out camping on Friday night after my dad's birthday party, low and behold while breaking limbs for the campfire, another limb broke loose and smacked me right in the forehead, above my right eyebrow. It popped up a huge knot and made a slight gash in the skin but needless to say by the next morning, which was Saturday, I have this huge bruise and look like I have been in the fight from hell! Without going into to much detail of the events of my life in the last week I just feel the need to write. To unload some of the emotion and fear and angst of the whole situation. I have tried to do the right thing in this situation and in the process as often happens have compromised my income, place to live and safety. A herniated disc, L3/L4, mid lower back, that is pressing the nerve going down my left side. Dr Dave will have his office contact the neurosurgeon in Peoria, and I will go down for a consultation. He said that he always guesses wrong what the neurosurgeon will do, but that it is definitely something that surgery could fix. So there is a spring in my step, because I now know what is wrong, and I'm on the path to getting fixed. I will let you know how this progresses, and keep my bitching about it to a minimum.

My husband has been home all summer workin but now hes back on the road, left out this mornin. It really sucks but we knew this day would come again. Hes only a few hours away so after I get the kids reg for school we are gonna go up there and spend a few days with him. The kids will get one last mini vacation before school starts back. Jenny's Simple Chicken Salad
*Kindly submitted by Beauty and the Mess.* ok, i would like to contribute my chicken salad recipe... my mom always asks for it Jenny's Simple Chicken Salad for the chicken- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 can chicken broth 1/4 tsp garlic powder pepper I do not add more salt because the broth is enough Poach chicken in broth and spices until done, after it's cooled, chop finely. Should make about 2 cups. Strain and freeze broth for later use if you're like me and you hate to waste. For the Salad- 2 cups chicken 1 cup finely diced celery 1/4 cup FINELY diced red onion about 1 cup of halved Green or Red Grapes ( I like green, mom likes red) about 1/2 - 1 cup of TOASTED pecans (just put the pecans in a dry skillet and toast lightly, be careful because once they get brown they are easily scorched, so watch them) For the Salad Dressing- In a separate bowl combine the following, measurements can be tweaked to suit your taste, this is the combo I like.

Recently I found an amazing livejournal blog where people from Russia that were born between 76 and 82 share their recollections of various trends, habits, styles, slang words, etc that were "in" in the 80s and 90s Russia. It brought back so many memories that I almost lost, including a couple of really disturbing ones: I remember when we just discovered that there was such thing as gum, we started doing something completely repulsive: chewing concrete tar. I remember being 7 years old with my friends, peeling off little bits of fresh concrete off the ground, and chewing them like gum.. Same was done with a window sealant, that was white, thus more resembling gum. We also tried to make Russian gum resemble American colored one, and colored strips of gum with markers or mixed it with shavings from colored pencils. When some lucky kid had gum, that gum was passed around between 6 or 7 kids, from mouth to mouth. (yuckk) I guess this explains a lot about me ;p

Very Sad........
As many of you know, I've been spending alot of my time with my grandmother who has alzheimer's and is rapidly slipping away. The last 2 weeks, she has gone downhill very quickly, and we're trying to find a solution to all of this that will work for her. She can't be left alone anymore due to her confusion, and, we can't get her into a home right now. My mom is up from Mississippi to stay with her until the end of the week, and then I will be going there with my kids to stay as well when my husband starts his work cycle again. This whole situation has been very rough!!! I was raised by my grandparents, and I owe my life to them. Grandpa passed away in 2005, and now, seeing this happen to my grandma is horrible. I just feel helpless! I know that many people have it alot worse than I do, but it's just tough to see somebody you love slip away in front of your eyes. Thanks for reading this, and I'll try to get on here when I can to say hi to our friends!!!

It was a long weekend. I didn't have the pain from the pinched nerve, as much as just general pain around my hip and leg, and lower back. It's a slow burning pain, that never leaves. I'm not sure which I like better, the sharp stabbing pain, which when I got in certain positions I could avoid...until I moved out of the positions, or the constant throb of pain I am having now. I'm hoping to get to the chiro today, maybe he can give me some relief.

Angel's niece will be okay. She does have some broken bones, and scratches and will need continuing prayers for healing. I have been told, though have not seen, that viewing the picture of the car she was in there must have been angels watching over her. I definitely know that we had angels watching and praying for her last night, and the family sends their thanks and thank you for continued prayer as she heals from these injuries. Why is it that some people assume that women in an abusive relationship or have been in one think that the women can just get out when they want to. and say ohhhhhh you dont have to put up with that crap. I know from personal experience that you just cant walk away when you choose. A woman will endure what they have to, to protect themselves and their children. it may take a few years to get to the point when shes had enough. but the time does come in most cases. I do know that most abusers will tell their victim that they are worthless and that no man will have them. or that they will make sure no man will have them when they are done with them. 15 Years!!!
August 1, 2008 marks fifteen years of celibacy, wait, I mean, monogomy for me. I would say, for "me and my husband" but that would be a lie. It applies to me only, (put two and two together...and what do ya get?) therefore, making me the superior one in the relationship! Either that or I'm just plain stupid. We met when we were nineteen. Both of us on the "rebound" of serious, long term relationships that failed miserably...(His moreso than mine!) I would not recommend this type of beginning to a relationship, although, I wouldn't venture to say that we both planned it this way. It just so happened to be and well, it's worked...most of the time... We've only been married 11 of those 15 years though! This is something I highly recommend! I've never been good at the whole "thinker througher" part that coincides with the decision making process. I'm a "do or don't", "stop or go" type individual. An incoming freshman player at Oklahoma was dismissed from the football team Friday by coach Bob Stoops after a video of him rapping about guns and shooting people appeared on the Internet. The dismissal of wide receiver Josh Jarboe came after the player appeared in a 74-second, profanity-laced video. “We are disappointed in this outcome, but our complete review and this final decision is in the best interest of our program,” Stoops said in a statement. “We outlined for Josh the expectations we had for him when he arrived and, unfortunately, those expectations have not been met. More Grey Down There Than On My Head!
I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET GREAT HAIR... you know the "grey hair means more wisdom" tale? I have very little grey on my head but discovered that grey poontang hairactually exists! Time For An Update
I just wanted to let everyone know that over the next few weeks, you won't be seeing me on here very much if at all. On Friday when I was in Indiana with Carrie, I got the call that I had been selected for Chief. For those not familiar with what that means, being selected is extremely difficult and because of it's rich tradition, there is a lengthy phase of transitioning that takes place. It will be consisting of a lot of work and little sleep, but in the end, it's the highest honor that can happen to an enlisted sailor. With the selection, Carrie and I will now be getting married on Sept 27th instead of this month as planned due to my inability to get away for it. That will allow her more time to finalize a few things and at least she will be here while I endure this, even though we won't see much of each other, but it will be great knowing she is here supporting me instead of having to communicate long distance. A Message To Family Members!!! (please Read)
We have had some instances where family members are putting newbies thru the joining process. I am glad to see people that are willing to help so much, but to avoid any confusion if you have somebody that is interested in joining dont put them through the joining process. Have them message either myself, Enchanted Rose, Lori, Mz Attitude, or Evil Angel. Between us 5, 1 of us is on most of the time. It just avoids confusion for us, to put people through and make sure they get added to rollcall and get tags made all at once. Panthers Send Smith Home After Fight With Lucas
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Carolina Panthers receiver Steve Smith was sent home from training camp Friday after he punched teammate Ken Lucas at practice, leaving the starting cornerback holding an ice pack to his left eye before he was carted to the locker room.
