Grab some tissues before you read any further! THIS ONE IS FOR EVERY WOMAN WHO LOVES A MILITARY MAN!! Maybe we all need a reminder... and maybe some of us have never stopped to consider... That he is indeed really her prince charming. Each day she goes to class, goes to work, and comes home exhausted... yet still sits down to write him a nightly letter. She sees out of the corner of her eye his mom watching her, and for the millionth time she wishes she could explain how much it meant to her to see this herself, to show him she supports his choice... and to somehow show his family she isn't trying to intrude or take their place... I'd usually go to one of my favorite MANLY pages for a post like this. Well, with so many things ... that EXCITE me lately - going on. I mean, I cant even focus on one thing ... Its like I see something EVERYDAY! If its not about one of the things I always have enjoyed (even in my youth) There is something else I've enjoyed around pre-puberty and ever since. Like any man, I enjoy doing it, but its just as exciting to SEE and WATCH: Live is something we live for ... but it cool just to watch elsewhere. Yeah, I enjoy it alone - but you know its even more exciting to have a group. You know when you enjoy something and just seriously believe you could NEVER get enough of it? THEN: You go without it for what seems like a lifetime? During that absents, you dream about it ... You think about how great it was the last time ... Then You start to even twist honest comments into what you were really thinking about during the whole conversation ... You

What's Inside: Intro:
INTRODUCTION In 1972, the United States Government, in corroboration with her cold war foe, the Russian Government, assembled an expedition. This expedition, code name ‘Wormwood’, included top scientists, archaeologists, and theologians from all over the world. The expedition was divided into four teams, with experts from each field, including one high-ranking military scientist per team. The team members were told that the expedition was formed to authenticate the Bible and the truth of its history through their discoveries; discoveries that would uncover artifacts left behind and hidden throughout history. However, they were not aware of the secret society that actually governed them and their evil hidden agenda…world domination. For three years, these teams had been investigating and searching their assigned regions with little success. In 1976, team Magus made a discovery that started a chain of events that would change humanity and send the world spiraling into an evil obliv

Love Comes To Those Who Love
Love comes to those who love, who find their joy In others' joy, their tears in others' tears. Those in need receive the gifts that buoy Them through the misspent yearnings of their years. Weakness is a strength, and power none, For none has power to compel affection. Passion to the self-consumed may come, But love looks for the grace of its reflection. Love is like a tide that comes and goes, And comes and goes according to the moon, Giving and receiving as it flows Between high headlands weathered and rough-hewn. For love becomes itself the cause of love, A double-knot not easy to remove.
Jewels Are Cut From More Than Precious Stone
Jewels are cut from more than precious stone. A life, too, is cut to catch the light. No beauty is refracted when a lone, Isolated stranger rides the night. Can you be jewels to each other's sun? Each needs a light to shine upon the heart, Awakening the loveliness that one Never could reveal if still apart. Do, then, both shine and give refraction, So you may be both source of light and jewel. Have each the strength to translate into action A love that is both sparkling fire and fuel. When two are one the sun and jewel can play: Now each heart will the other's light display. by Nicholas Gordon

In Love, You Let The Heart Do All The Thinking
In love you let the heart do all the thinking And say with courage simply what seems true. Time will in good time do all the linking, But you must know you've done what you can do. Passion understands far more than reason, Seeing in the dark with more than sight. Truth, in truth, can vary with the season, Nor can you ever know you've got it right. So throw yourself into the stream of being And let the moment take you where it will. Fear does nothing for the bitter keening That only love's sweet sacrifice can still by Nicholas Gordon

Dreams Do Come True
Dreams do come true, but only when They make it through despair, Limping into everyday Transformed beyond repair. No dream would be a dream if it Could pass for something real, Nor would we sail for paradise Would it its shoals conceal. So it is with love: the dream Long longed for, now possessed, Must be a dream no longer, but An emperor undressed. Stark naked it must come to us In unaccustomed shame, And we must take it in our arms And love it all the same. And we must love love as it is That dreams might still come true, Mangled into miracles To make our lives anew.

Londy. Londy. Londy....
Londy, Londy, Londy... Sep 23, 2006 Hello Friends, Just dropping a quick note to tell one and all that I made it across the pond! We are still getting settled in, but our lodging and studio are pretty sweet, so all is well. I guess I didn't realize how different certain things would be here in London. Still not use to driving on the wrong side of the road. (niether is Ken for that matter but getting better LOL)...honestly though, aside from bumping a couple curbs... as long as we have an address and our navigation system there are no worries. Other things to note that I didn't think of...all the electric here is different so I have to get a converter for my laptop so I can post pics. For now you're just gonna have to deal with my really bad text post. Speaking of... I'm not use to typing on this keyboard. I keep putting "" when I want an @ and an @ when I want ""...crazy. Just because it's a different country, why do they feel the need to change the keyboard. I mean...come on!

Got This Poem From A Bulletin .... Liked It! ;)
We sit and we type and we stare at our screens, We can't help but wonder what all of this means. With mouse in hand ...we roam through this maze, On an infinite search...lost in a daze. We chat with each other, we type all our woes At times we'll band together to gang up on our foes. We wait for somebody, to type out our name We want recognition, but it is always the same. Soon friendships are formed - but - why we don't know, But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow. We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes we'll flirt, In IMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt. Why is it on screen, we are so easily bold, Telling our secrets, that have never been told. The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell, We all have our problems, and need someone to tell. We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must So we turn to our 'puters ...and to those we can trust. Even though it sounds crazy...the truth still remains, Most of my "fr

Hells Heart
Hells Heart Who can say where the heart lies, For life itself sets your trail as you pass by, All is a lesson in the cold truths of life, Lessons set in stone yet must learned through strife. Why does it flow with such a cold breeze, That it grips the heart bringing me to my knees, The winds of change have come once again, Another test to take proving I'm a man. Struck down without thought and passed without care, I gave you my all and I would share, Here in the cold I feel so alone, What can I hope for from what's been shone. Time will heal one step at a time, Soon the bell will toll and I'll hear the chimes, The chime time signify all will be well, That I'll stand once more and walk past this Hell. Heavens Heart
Heaven’s Heart What seems so small is so big, And what is not seen should be paid respect, For all around you is the power of heaven, Take but a moment yourself and see. Not the cruelest of times, Nor the darkest may hide, That which is true when you open your eyes, For strength resides within your heart. Send away your fears and torments, Stand tall and believe in yourself, Never let another bring you down, For as you draw strength so do other draw from you. Listen to the wind, the water, the earth and the spirit, Give thanks for the strength given by natures heart, Watch the sunrise to feel its unbending power, And know such power rests within you. Heaven is here for open eyes to see, But without pain there is not pleasure, Take in those who would be there for you, And in the end you shall know the beauty they see. A Begginning
a beginning by ammre © He slides his finger along the ridge of my ear He whispers in my ear you are Mine... His finger traces down onto my neck you will do what I say... His finger swirls around to a point on my neck if you are good you will get rewarded... He licks and nibbles at my skin causing goosebumps of pleasure but... His finger traces to the other side of my neck if you are bad... His finger swirls around again to a point you will get punished. He bites so hard i gasp and whimper Understand? i nod He grabs me by the hair and yanks my head back so i can see into His face UNDERSTAND? I respond Yes, Sir. He kisses me deeply taking pleasure in the awkward angle of my neck suddenly, He shoves my head away i fall to my hands and knees, gasping for breath. He moves around in front of me and sits Now, let's get started.

Feeling Dark Today
"ALONE IN DARKNESS" The night falls in a heavy, suffocating cloak, soulless are we. The light for which you sacrifice yourself flares once, then dies, smothered by madness. all hope must fail. Your heart beats no more. How could you fail to believe? Lost souls surround us, crying, we are fallen. "COLD" Around, all around, the shadows gather. My dread grows as the dagger of your words falls against my naked soul. It slays me, and darkly my essence drips to the wicked earth that is my prison. In my madness I call your name while nothingness laughs cruelly. Now alone, my love falls upon cold eyes. This is because of you. "I RISE" It is a night of ethereal pain, a song of death, wolves vent their loneliness. The immortal one stirs. Mist shrouds her brooding form, an eternal desire. Her midnight hair cascades over translucent ivory shoulders, and her full blood red lips part slightly, to taste the life streaming from the pale flesh beneat
This Was Too Funny
My girl is really cool and I think she is great but sometimes I find her saying things that makes me pause and think "what is she thinking?". Just the other day I was describing a print I wanted to photograph and she says to me, straight faced as ever, "You have a superly brilliantly mind"...uhhh what? Just today she tells me about a book she is reading by Anne Rice and she drescibes the book as having, and I quote-"lusty love thoughts"..Ha, gotta love her. Lusty Love thoughts, I told her it sounds like she should be writting for penthouse in a closet wearing gorilla pants or something. I suggested she even change her profile name on here to Lusty Love Thoughts. "Lusty Love Thoughts"...classic Heather.

What Mythological Creature Are You? Take The Quiz
You scored as Mermaid. Mermaid: Mermaids are also known as Sirens. These creatures were beautiful women who tricked sailors into becoming completely entranced by their haunting voices and found death soon after. Not all stories of Mermaids are about gentle loving sea people. They are mystical, magical, and extremely dangerous. They have a way about them that brings anyone they are around to seem enchanted. They are very mysterious creatures and to meet one... Would mean certain Death. Lost Items
I have just gotten a new "haze" lens filter for my canon camera and asked my girl to please put it up. Now it cant be found. I have looked. I have had her to look, and nothing... I have all the others but not the one I need. I try to keep everything organized but to no avail. I have several (9) cameras and can always seem to find everything except for the canon....I am beginning to think I am fighting a losing battle with it. Dont you just hate when you know you have something but never seem to be able to find it. I have a photo-shoot planned and it looks as if I will be buying another one. uuugh!!! Am I the only one who seems to have this problem...some days it just feels like a curse. Anyone else have this problem? Well thanks for letting me vent..dont really feel better but had to let it out.

"goodbye My Lover"
JAMES BLUNT LYRICS "Goodbye My Lover" Did I disappoint you or let you down? Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown? 'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun, Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won. So I took what's mine by eternal right. Took your soul out into the night. It may be over but it won't stop there, I am here for you if you'd only care. You touched my heart you touched my soul. You changed my life and all my goals. And love is blind and that I knew when, My heart was blinded by you. I've kissed your lips and held your hand. Shared your dreams and shared your bed. I know you well, I know your smell. I've been addicted to you. Goodbye my lover. Goodbye my friend. You have been the one. You have been the one for me. I am a dreamer and when i wake, You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take. And as you move on, remember me, Remember us and all we used to be I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile. I've watched you
Allowing Others To Walk Their Paths
Observing Evolution Allowing Others To Walk Their Paths Watching a loved one or a peer traverse a path littered with stumbling blocks can be immensely painful. We instinctively want to guide them toward a safer track and share with them the wisdom we have acquired through experience. Yet all human beings have the right to carve their own paths without being unduly influenced by outside interference. To deny them that right is to deny them enlightenment, as true insight cannot be conveyed in lectures. Rather, each individual must earn independence and illumination by making decisions and reflecting upon the consequences of each choice. In allowing others to walk their paths freely, you honor their right to express their humanity in whatever way they see fit. Though you may not agree with or identify with their choices, understand that each person must learn in their own way and at their own pace. The events and circumstances that shape our lives are unique because each of us is u
Love Is Just A Word To Some Ppl
Well turns out I was hanging on to nothing,my heart was just stomped on, like it didn't matter or that it wasn't important enough... Don't sit there and tell me that "You do love me and care about me" when u want to be with someone else! I'm starting to believe that Love Is Truely Highly Over Rated!!! Anyways I'm taking off for a bit and take care of myself, so those of you's that have my number you know how to reach me and for those who don't just send messages and i'll get on from time to time and answer them back. Final Note: Don't give your heart to someone who you don't fully believe deserves it, guard it with all that you have!

Walking Through When Doors Open
Walking Through When Doors Open When a door opens, walk through it. Trust that the door has opened for a reason and you have been guided to it. Sometimes we have a tendency to overanalyze or agonize over the decision, but it is quicker to simply go through the door and discover what's there as that's the only way to know. Even if it doesn't seem right at first, opening this door may lead to another door that will take us where we need to go. Doors open when the time is right for us to enter a new space, metaphorically speaking, and we can have faith that walking through is the right thing to do. Sometimes we linger in the threshold because we are afraid of leaving our old life for a life we know nothing about. We may have voices inside of our heads that try to hold us back or people in our lives saying discouraging things. These voices, internal and external, are known as threshold spirits, and they express all the fears and doubts that arise at the beginning of a new life. Never

Following The Current Of Life
Following The Current Going With The Flow The expression going with the flow is a metaphor that applies to navigating a river. When we go with the flow, we follow the current of the river rather than push against it. People who go with the flow may be interpreted as lazy or passive, but to truly go with the flow requires awareness, presence, and the ability to blend one's own energy with the prevailing energy. Going with the flow doesn't mean we toss our oars into the water and kick back in the boat, hoping for the best. Going with the flow means we let go of our individual agenda and notice the play of energy all around us. We tap into that energy and flow with it, which gets us going where we need to go a whole lot faster than resistance will. Going with the flow doesn't mean that we don't know where we're going; it means that we are open to multiple ways of getting there. We are also open to changing our destination, clinging more to the essence of our goal than to the partic

This last week has been tough,,,,,,,, My exhusband(Dave) that I was with for 17 years was shot and killed by police in illinois. He was suicidal (which I had him committed in 2000 due to an attempt) I have learned alot in the last few days that my head is spinning. At first I felt guilt that if I didn't leave him...he would be alive...Then I had people tell me that my daughter or myself would probably would of been dead by now.Down in I know I did the right thing. I had also found out that it was his girlfriend that destroyed the relationship between Dave and our daughter...She even had our daughter non exsistent when it came to the next of kin...That was giving the coroner my divorce paper and it shot down the girlfriends claims. My daughter's wishes was to have him in Wi..with his parents. So yesterday I went and signed all the papers...He will be cremated , and a memorial service will be later this week after i deal with the funeral home here. I went to meet with my priest to di

One Of My Faovrite Ones, Warning A Tear Jerker...
UGLY Everyone in the apartment complex I lived in knew who Ugly was. Ugly was the resident tomcat. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage, and shall we say, love. The combination of these things combined with a life spent outside had their effect on Ugly. To start with, he had only one eye, and where the other should have been was a gaping hole. He was also missing his ear on the same side, his left foot has appeared to have been badly broken at one time, and had healed at an unnatural angle, making him look like he was always turning the corner. His tail has long since been lost, leaving only the smallest stub, which he would constantly jerk and twitch. Ugly would have been a dark gray tabby striped-type, except for the sores covering his head, neck, even his shoulders with thick, yellowing scabs. Every time someone saw Ugly there was the same reaction. "That's one UGLY cat!!" All the children were warned not to touch him, the adul

Want A Funny Read??
I had been banging around the roads of east Texas on my motorcycle and as I headed back into Dallas, found myself in very heavy, high-speed traffic on the freeways. Normally, this is not a problem, I commute in these conditions daily, but suddenly I was nearly run down by a cage that decided it needed my lane more than I did. This is not normall a big deal either, as it happens around here often, but usually I can accurately predict which drivers are not paying attention and avoid them before we are even close. This one I missed seeing until it was nearly too late, and as I took evasive action I nearly broadsided another car that I was not even aware was there! Two bad decisions and insufficient situational awareness...all within seconds.. Time to get off the freeway. I hit the next exit, and as I was in an area I knew pretty well, headed through a few big residential neighborhoods as a new route home. As I turned onto the nearly empty streets I opened the visor on my full-face h

Mabon
Mabon (pronounced MAY-bun, MAY-bone, MAH-boon or MAH-bawn) or the Autumn Equinox is one of the Lesser Wiccan Sabbats and is usually celebrated around September 23rd, though it can occur as early as the 20th, depending on the timing of the actual Astrological event (check the calendar). The Autumn Equinox, like the Spring Equinox divides day and night equally. However during Autumn, (as opposed to Spring, when the opposite occurs) we begin to see the waning of the Sun more obviously now as the days continue to grow shorter until the Wheel of the Year spins around again to Yule. (Images to the left and below are by Anthony Meadows and from Llewellyn's 1998 and 1999 Witches' Calendars. Click on either image to go directly to Llewellyn's Web Site.) The various other names for this Sabbat include the Autumn (or Autumnal) Equinox, the Fall Equinox, the Second Harvest Festival, Festival of Dionysus, Wine Harvest, Cornucopia, Feast of Avalon, Equinozio di Autunno (Strega), and Alban Elfed (

What Mythological Creature Are You?
You scored as Faerie. Faerie: Aren't you a cute little flying person? Faeries are earth spirits. They live among each element completely hidden. They have cousins called Pixies. Pixies however, are very mischevious. They enjoy tormenting other creatures for fun. Little pranksters.. I hope you never meet one. Pixies have a bad reputation for finding a creature and clinging to them until death. Faeries can be somewhat close to a Pixie, but mostly they are loving, playful, and carry with them a child-like enthusiasm for life. Heard Someone Coming...roflmfao!!!
A young man moved into a new apartment on his own, and went to the lobby to put his name on his mailbox. While there, an attractive young lady came out of the apartment next to the mailboxes wearing a robe. The boy smiled at the young woman and she started a conversation with him. As they talked, her robe slipped open, and it was obvious that she had nothing else on. The poor kid broke into a sweat trying to maintain eye contact. After a few minutes, she placed her hand on his arm and said, "Let's go to my apartment, I hear someone coming." He followed her into her apartment; she closed the door and leaned against it, allowing her robe to fall off completely. Now nude, she purred at him, "What would you say is my best feature?" Flustered and embarrassed, he finally squeaked, "It's got to be your ears!" Astounded, and a little hurt she asked, "My ears? Look at these breasts; they are full and 100% natural! I work out every day! My butt is firm and solid! Look at my skin - no

Watching every motion In my foolish lover's game On this endless ocean Finally lovers know no shame Turning and returning To some secret place inside Watching in slow motion As you turn around and say Take my breath away Take my breath away Watching I keep waiting Still anticipating love Never hesitating To become the fated ones Turning and returning To some secret place to hide Watching in slow motion As you turn to me and say Take my breath away Through the hourglass I saw you In time you slipped away When the mirror crashed I called you And turned to hear you say If only for today I am unafraid Take my breath away Take my breath away Watching every motion In this foolish lover's game Haunted by the notion Somewhere there's a love in flames Turning and returning To some secret place inside Watching in slow motion As you turn my way and say Take my breath away Take my breath away

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it) If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. (Now that's more like it!) The human heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood 30 feet. (O.M.G.!) A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes. (In my next life, I want to be a pig) A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy.) (I'm still not over the pig.) Silent Observations
Hi
It's scary how many paths we cross in our world today. And how many people we "touch" without even knowing it. One's words or actions may influence another person who's far away. And you wouldn't likely know. Maybe you made them laugh, or cry, or feel better, or really pissed them off. Completly unknowingly. Especially with the internet. There may be people you never even see, or hear, or hear from reading your page and looking at your pictures, and making snap judgments about the type of person you are, or aren't. Ya never know. The next aspect of this is you end up talking to people and knowoing about more people than you ordinarily would have. Or atleast I do. ( I have hundreds of people on my friends lists all together on my friends lists from various networking site like this. Checkout the tagworld link in the about me section. Not everyone reads my blogs, but a great many of them do that otherwise wouldn't even know someone like me existed in the world )I don't leave
Been A Very Boring Weekend!
Ahhh... The life of having school-age kids... They bring home germs! We've all been sick over the past week. I have had hardly any sleep, but yet, I can't seem to get more than 3 hours of sleep at a time. I suppose it has to do with the fact that I'm a bit nervous. I applied for a job last week and I got a call late friday afternoon (but wasn't around to answer... DOH!) for an interview. This job is really a good one. Pays $12.50 an hour, and it's doing tech support, which I've been doing for years. If I can get my dad to learn how to use a computer over the phone, I can get anyone past their problems. I need the money so bad! I need a new corset, I think I need a few more holes in my head and some more ink. Yeah, I need a job to at least support my crazy habits!

You are my heart and soul, to show you is my main goal. To show you how much I care, my love is almost too much to bare. I want to hold you every night, I love you with all my might. You are the one that I want in my life, I want to be your wife. I hate to have you go, 'cuz I love you so. You are my heart and my soul, to love you all my life is such a beautiful goal.

Just A Poem
Last night in my dreams i saw you, you came to me. I looked into your eyes and held you in my arms. We shared a passionate kiss, I whispered in your ear, how much I loved you, Wish it wasn't only a dream. Touch a woman's mind, you get her interest. Touch her heart, you get her love. But touch her soul, you get passion beyond your wildest dreams. Once you have touched all three, you have found your soulmate for eternity. The most beautiful things in life, can not be seen or touched. They must be felt with the HEART
Poetry.
I belong to a poetry website called allpoetry, and have been there about 3 years now. I haven't written much recently (busy with college and not much inspiration) but I am hoping that will change soon! In the meantime here is a couple of pieces I have written. My poetry tends to be either quite dark or more romantic, so here goes. "You fixed it" You accepted it. Every single misdemeanour and fault That makes me so imperfect, Sheltered in your understanding. You protected it. A fragile, often lifeless soul broken by lies and deceit, was no match for the honesty you gave. You fixed it. My deformed, tattered heart Weather beaten and old before it's time, Continues to beat because of you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Tiptoes" The tiptoes of my heartbeat, The only sound in the blanket darkness. Laid contemplating, Mindless ramblings, Imagination embellished. Eyes adjust. Weary in their awakening. Throat dry, tightened The whir

Hey Girlfriend, Can I ask you something personal? Be honest... Have you ever dated the type of guy that left you constantly waiting by the phone with an uneasy sick feeling in the pit of your stomach? Or a guy who made you feel bad about yourself, but for some reason you couldn’t leave him? (Of course, that same guy, at times, also made you feel like you were the only person on this planet - you know, that “hot-cold” type). And have you ever walked into a club and found yourself so attracted to one particular guy, you felt like you were in a trance and literally couldn't stop making eyes with him? If you answered yes to any of the above, it may be a sign that you’re susceptible to a certain “dangerous personality type” that psychiatrists have a SCARY sounding name for,

When God Created Kittycats
When God created kitty cats, He had no Recipe; He knew He wanted Something sweet, As sweet as sweet could be. He started out with sugar, Adding just a trace of spice; Then stirred in drops of Morning dew, To keep them fresh and nice He thought cats should be soft to pet, So He gave them coats of fur; So they could show they were content, He taught them how to purr. He made for them long tails To wave, While strutting down the walk; Then trained them in meow-ology, So they could do cat-talk. He made them into acrobats, And gave them grace and poise; Their wide-eyes curiosity, He took from little boys. He put whiskers on their faces, Gave them tiny ears for caps; Then shaped their little bodies, To snugly fit on laps. He gave them eyes as big as saucers, To look into man's soul; Then set a tolerance for mankind, Their purpose and their goal. Benevolent...and...Generous, He made so many of them; Then charged, with fatherly concern, The

Creed Of The Mother
"Walk thou softly upon this Good earth and treat her with respect as she deserves She nurtures us, feeds us, provides our needs. Step lightly on the path through life, remembering always that We are not the only ones here.We have sisters And brothers beyond counting, beyond our ability to Know. They may look different, may walk on 4 feet or a Hundred or none. They may fly through the skies and Race the very wind or swim beneath the cool Waters. Some are furred, others feathered or scaled. It Matters not as all are of value, all have their place in The scheme of things. We are neither the first, Nor the last the greatest or the least of the Multitude. It would behoove us to remember this to honor all Life and the earth, our shared mother, from which we Came." --Author unknown but greatly appreciated
Being John Malkovich
In a modern movie era where cliche films like "Happy Gilmore," "Star Wars: Episode I," and "Billy Madison" are popular occasionally a completely original film comes along like "Being John Malkovich." The movie stars very talented actors such as Cameron Diaz (Laudia), John Cusack (Craig), and John Malkovich (himself). The movie is a serious fantasy/drama placed in our own modern world. "Being John Malkovich" is one of the most original movies that we'll be remembering for years to come because of the plot, acting, and directing. The movie's plot concerns a struggling puppeteer, Craig who is forced to get a file clerk job because his mediocre career thus far in being a puppeteer is failing. One day at work, he discovers a hidden door within the office the building that leads into the head of John Malkovich. Craig tries to use the doorway to benefit himself throughout the movie, both personally and financially by selling ticket to ride through John Malkovich's head. Unfortunately, Cra
Memento
Every now and then a few films will come out that'll redefine the standards of what a movie is, and "Memento" is definitely one of those rare films. Christopher Nolan's dark direction for this film has audiences constantly guessing what's going to happen next while Guy Pearce and the rest of the cast deliver spectacular performances. The film is about a man, Leonard (Guy Pearce) on mission to find and seek revenge against his wife's murderer. However, Leonard suffers from a short term memory loss preventing him from constructing new memories due to an attack when he tried to stop his wife's murderer. Thus, he can only remember who he is and everything leading up to the incident, but he can't remember anything for more than two minutes after that. The only flaw this film does suffer from is that it may come off too disturbing for the faint of heart, but it's definitely worth seeing. "Memento" is by far the best film of 2001 by creating the idea that memories of one's past isn't always a
Mr. Deeds
I'm honestly at a lost for words about this film. I loved the original film because of its witty dialogue and character development which this film lacks. "Mr. Deeds" is a remake of the 1936 classic, "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town." The story is about a small town Pizza Owner and Poet named Longfellow Deeds, living in Mandrake Falls, who inherits forty billion dollars from his uncle Blake after he dies. Unfortunately, Deeds finds himself a victim of circumstance when he learns that Blake's investors are trying to sell his uncle's company. Meanwhile, Faye Bennet a.k.a. Pam Dawson tries to get close to Deeds to cover his exploits on her news show, but she suddenly starts to fall for the guy. I have to be honest when I say that I think Frank Cappra would shoot himself in the freakin head if he saw this. Not only does this film take everything that was good about the original, but it spits it out and tries to pass off something else. Another remake gone bad. Everything from the acting and dire
Mr. Deeds Goes To Town
"Mr. Deeds Goes To Town" is one Cappra's best films ever. The story is about a small town poet named Longfellow Deeds, residing in Mandrake Falls, who inherits twenty million dollars from his rich uncle after he dies. However, when Deeds goes to New York to collect his inheritance and use it to help the needy, he soon finds himself a victim of modern society with every rich mongrul trying to take advantage of him from lawyers to phony relatives. Babe Bennet, played by Jean Arthur, is a newsreporter who pretends to get close to Deeds to cover his exploits, but she soon finds herself falling for the labeled "Cinderella Man." Frank Capra's direction in this film is very powerful and makes up for some of the scripts minor flaws. The chemistry between Jean Arthur and Gary Cooper was genuine while dishing out intelligent humor; a quality lacking in many of today's modern romantic comedies. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect when I first saw this film, but anyone who sees this won't b
Fahrenheit 9/11
Moore's newest documentary is perhaps the most intriquing and controversial documentary that I've ever seen. The film is based on the controversies surrounding George W. Bush's administration during his four year term from the election scandal to the "War on Iraq." The film presents many factual evidence to support how Bush hasn't been the ideal President, and how the "War on Terror" has affected many American families and soldiers. However, many viewers may not like this film because of its' obvious biased point of view, but it does make a lot of valid points. I remember when I first saw this film, I didn't want to believe in many of the things Moore's documentary said. However, from reading "Rolling Stone" and watching CNN confirming this information, it was perhaps the most startling and frightening revelation I've had. The film displays many powerful scenes that will make viewers interested throughout the movie. Whether your for or against George W. Bush, "Fahrenheit 9/11" will def

Hotel Rwanda
Hotel Rwanda" is the most inspirational film, about hope within a troubled society, that I've seen since "City of God." The film is based off a true story, involving the 1994 Rwandan tribal conflict between the Tutsis and the Hutus, about a hotel manager, Paul (Don Cheadle), struggle to servive as he uses his hotel as a shelter for Tutsi refugees. Like "City of God," this film illustrates a sense of hope within a society that would make anyone feel that there is no reason to survive. The dark direction and story are the best feautures because it shows the world's ignorance to the Rwandan crisis, and the dark prejudice of African society. Don Cheadle and Sophie Okenedo are simply brilliant in the movie by dishing out Oscar-esque performances. Overall, "Hotel Rwanda" is one of the most powerful films I've ever seen. Don Cheadle's performance was top-notch in this film. Don portrays his character as a man whoms only concern is to protect his family, but he is thrown into a frustrating
Superman: The Movie
"Superman: The Movie" is truly a marvelious film. The movie is based on the popular D.C. comic's character, Superman (Christopher Reeves), who was sent to Earth, as a baby, to escape the fate of exploding along with his home world, Krypton. On Earth, (Superman's alter-ego) Clark Kent, grows up in a small town, Smallville, where he soon discovers his past and decides to use his powers to help protect the Earth after witnessing the death of his Earth father. However, he soon faces a cunning lunatic, Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman), that tries to blow up California for financial gain, and it's up to Superman to save the day. I'll admit this is bit dated by today's standards of super hero films, but its' storyline and direction is what makes this film a time less classic. Richard Donner's upbeat direction of this really captures the Man of Steel's impact that he's made on American culture. Presenting him as being the symbol of which we all aspire to be like. Much like the comic book version, the
Collateral
"Collateral" is one psychological thriller that doesn't fail to disappoint. The movie is about a New York cab driver, Max (Jamie Foxx), whom unknowlingly give a ride to a professional hit man, Vincent (Tom Cruise). During the ride, Max promised to be Vincent's personal driver for a fee of six hundred dollars. However, things start to get out of control when Max sees a dead body fall on top his cab. Michael Mann's use of cinematography and direction immerses the viewer in the environment of the film. As tension grows with Foxx and Cruise in the film, the viewer is unable to take his/her eyes off the screen. Michael Mann's latest film is a true example of how immersive a movie can be. The cinematograpy captures the theme of the film quite well. Allowing the viewer to feel as if he/she is inside the cab riding alongside Max and Vincent. Like when Vincent tries to kill a guy in a night club and results in shooting several innocent people, the light and the atmosphere create the perfect
Bad Santa
"Bad Santa" takes everything we all hold dear to Christmas and obliterates it with cursing and fowl low brow humor, and I absolutly love it! The movie is about a drunken middle aged Santa (Billy Bob Thornton) that hates his job and plans to rob the mall, where he works at, with help from his would be sidekick elf (Tony Cox). However, along the way some little fat kid starts to warm the old crook's heart, and Santa must decide to either help the kid or stick to his usual plan of drinking, robbing, and women. Plus, John Ritter as the mall supervisor, who's appalled by Santa and elf, is hillarious. In one scene, John tries to fire Santa because he was caught having sex in the women's dressing room. However, Santa and elf turn it around and make John look like he's racist against midgets. Uttering hillarious lines like, "Pretty soon you're gonna have whole bunch of these little *****ers with protests signs," by Santa. Terry Zwigoff does a great job providing a comedy that adults can enjoy
The Mask
Ssssssmoking!!! Jim Carrey stars in a action comedy based off the comic book by Dark Horse. In which a nerdy bank teller, Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), goes through life as basically a "push over", and never has any luck with the ladies. Putting up with an annoying boss, a @#*^&and lord, and rip-off mechanics. Just as his life couldn't get any worse, he finds a mysterious mask, that supposedly contains the Norse God's, Loke, powers. Granting Stanley the powers similar to a cartoon character in which to obtain all the things he's ever wanted. Thus, turning him into a love crazed wild man trying to woo the likes of such babes like Cameron Diaz. However, after beating a mafia group to the punch on robbing a bank, Stanley finds himself in all sorts of troubles as he must take on the police and mafia all while trying to clear his name. Jim Carrey of course uses his slapstick humor to add to cartoon superhero, and the special effects are solid. The film is cliched and the most of the characte
Blazing Saddles
"Excuse me while I whip this out." Yes, Mel Brooks puts together one of the most controversial yet funniest parodies ever created. The film is about a small town named Rock Ridge that's terrorized by a bunch of gunslinging bandits, so they send aid to Governor Lepotomane's office requesting for a new sheriff. However, the Lepotomane's aid, Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman), wants to build a rail road through Rock Ridge and needs all the inhabitants to move out for his own financial gain, so he stages to have an African America ex-railroad worker, Bart (Cleavon Little), to become their new sheriff. As one might expect, Bart isn't treated to the warmest of welcomes as the town folk are ready to shoot him on sight when he arrives. Fortunately, in a Mel Brooks way, Bart uses his gun and takes himself hostage causing the town folk to become concerned after they were going to shoot him. I couldn't stop laughing when Bart did that. I mean it's like he said to himself afterwards, "Baby, you are so
Talk To Her
"Talk to Her" is one of the deepest love stories that has ever graced the big screen. The movie is about two men who fall in love with these women, whom are both suddenly thrusted into a coma, and shows how each guy copes with the situation while they support each other, in thier hour of need. The direction for the film is perhaps one of its' best strengths by capturing so many themes like hope, love, friendship, happiness, tragedy, and irony that work beautifully to create a very heart drenching film about life. The actors performances really shine by conveying realistic emotions that anyone can identify with. "Talk to Her" is one of the deepest love stories about life that you'll ever see. One of the main characters in the movie, Begnino, falls in love with a ballerina dancer, Alicia, but when she's put into a coma, Begnino dedicates his life to taking care of her as a male nurse. Everyday, he bathes her, feeds her, and talks to her, in hopes that she'll be listening. Meanwhil
Superman Iv: The Quest For Peace
The final film, in the Superman series, goes out in a less than heroic fashion. The film is based on the popular comic book character, and it features most the original cast of the first one and a few others. In the movie, Superman decides to take it upon himself to rid the world of all its' nuclear arms after hearing a request from a small boy. However, his arch nemesis, Lex Luthor, escapes from prison to become a nuclear arms entrepreneur, so he can get revenge against the Man of Steel. Lex uses the nuclear weapons combined with Superman's DNA to create a Solar powered villain, whom is potentially stronger than Superman. I must admit that this film does have its' moments, but it's overshadowed by a mediocre script. Overall, if the series wasn't dead with "Superman III," then it's definitely six feet under with this sequel. The script is simply dreadful using a lot of cheesines that would put Adam West to shame. For example, for some reason the writers thought it would be funny to
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
Harry is back for another hit sequel. This newest film is based off the children's novel of the same name, in which Harry discovers that someone else is trying to kill him again! And like the last one, this killer has some kind of relationship with Harry's father, and it also has something to do with this hidden room at Hogwartz. At this point, I think most people wouldn't keep going back to an area where someone is always trying to kill them, but it wouldn't be much of a film if Harry ever did realize that. From watching this film, it felt like I was watching the first one again. Once again there's a villain trying to kill Harry and it involves a magical object, in this case it's a room; as opposed to a Sorcerer's stone like the last one. Like the last one, it also has a surprise ending on whom the villain is and lets not forget the promo that was thrown for a meaningless sport that doesn't exist, Quidditch. Yes, Quidditch, in the first two Harry Potter films, seems to play the equiva
Black And White
BLACK AND WHITE "Please, Mark, we really need to work out tonight," pleaded Cindy! Mark looked at the two women and said, "You guys know the rules, the gym closes at ten sharp!" "Just for a little while," begged Jill?!? Mark, the manager of the Suburban Workout Gym, was about ready to begin his own workout when these two dingbats showed up just as he was closing up. "Oh well, come on in, I was just going to work out myself, and I could use a spotter," he said, giving in to their pleas! Both girls rushed past him and headed for the locker room to change, and Mark, shaking his head, locked the door and went back into the gym to start his workout. He was just finishing up his warm ups when the two women came out of the locker room. Looking them over, Mark had to admit that Cindy and Jill were two of the best conditioned ladies who used the facility, and they really did workout, unlike a lot of the other female members, who seemed to use the club as a social gathering spot rather than a
Ran
"Ran" is perhaps one the best films of all time. The film is an adaptation of William Shakespear's classic play, "King Lear." Ran tells the story of a powerful sixteenth century Japanese warlord, Hidetora Ichimonji(Tatsuya Nakadai), whom decides to retire and give his three sons his land by dividing it equally amongst them, but leaving his eldest son, Tarotakatora (Akira Terrao), as the main ruler of the three kingdoms. Falling prey to false praises from his treacherous sons Tarotakatora and Jiromasatora (Jinpachi Nezu), King Hidetora feels comforted in his decision. However, his youngest son, Saburonaotora (Daisuke Ryu), is banished by the King because Saburo was the only one who cared about his father to tell him the harsh truth. Backed by his own selfish pride, Lord Hidetora witnesses the brutal truth that Saburo was right. His kingdom collapsing around him as his two eldest sons fight for power. And Lady Kaede (Mieko Harada)who is wife of Tarotakatora, has her own plans of seducing
School Of Rock
To simply put it, "The School of Rock," rocks. In an era where most kid films generally suck, "School of Rock" reminds us of the times when kid movies actually used to be cool like the Home Alone films (the first two that is). The story is about an out of work rock musician played by Jack Black, living with his friend and former band member, trying to form a band for the battle of the bands, but he's forced by his friend's girlfriend to get a normal job. However, as luck would have it, his friend gets a call to be a substitute teacher at a private school, so Jack goes and poses as the new wood be teacher. Don't get me wrong. This film still has the typical cliche father figure teaching kids about confidence and all that feel good crap we expect, but it does it in a unique and funny way. For example, in the film, Jack teaches the kids about rock and roll, and how to stick it to the man. "School of Rock" is a hillarious film that many families will come to enjoy. Jack is simply funny
Dragon Ball Z: Broly, The Legendary Super Saiyan
Over the years, the Dragon Ball Z series has grown to become a world wide phenomenon from selling popular Manga Comics, toys, trading cards, anime, and video games (despite mediocre game reviews for most of them). Yes, it seems Dragon Ball Z has become a huge international success. However, what compells us to love this series? Is it the characters? The storyline? Or perhaps its bizzare and its' sometimes raunchy humor? Whatever the case maybe, Dragon Ball Z is definitely a success. In this latest DBZ film, its about the first legendary super saiyan that's wreaking havoc on the south quadrant of the galaxy. Meanwhile, Goku and ChiChi are dressed up to meet with a school board to enroll Gohan in a private school. Plans soon change when Goku recieves word, from King Kai, about the new threat. However, a saiyan named Paragus shows up to invite Vegeta to rule the new planet Vegeta, and help vanguish the legendary super saiyan. Unfortunately, Paragus has secret plans of his own. I know some
Dr. Suess' The Cat In The Hat
Dr. Suess' The Grinch was a fairly mediocre film that lacked quality, but this one just plain sucks. The film is based off the popular children's book by Dr. Suess about a Cat, wearing a red and white striped hat, that goes over to visit a couple of children alone on a rainy day and causes all kinds of mischief. I have to confess while growing up I was a huge fan of Dr. Suess' books, but I loathe the films as an adult; irony at its' best. Unfortunately, though, the film's humor seems questionable and may frighten small children. In one scene, the cat has a knife and threatens another cat by saying, "I'll get you, and I'll make it look like an accident." I usually hate these parents that are always whining about violence on t.v., films, and whatever but I would have to agree with them on this one. Sure, the Grinch sucked but at least it made its humor and story was suitable enough for kids because after all it was a kids' film based on a kids' book. The special effects look too artifici
The Spongebob Squarepants Movie
The popular cartoon character, from Nickelodeon, finally makes his big screen debut. The film is based off the famous animated TV show, about a yellow sponge whom works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab in Bikini Bottom, and it's also known for the famous Krabby Patty which is supposedly the most delectable dish in the sea. In the film, Plankton devises a scheme to steal the formula to make his own Krabby Patties and in the process get Mr. Krabs out of the picture. Therefore, Plankton steals King Neptune's crown and frames Mr. Krabs, so he would destroy Mr. Krabs while Plankton would steal the Krabby Patty formula and in the process, try to take over the world. However, SpongeBob and his friend Patrick, the starfish, volunteer to retrieve the crown and thwart Plankton's evil plan. I'll admit this film did have its moments, but I don't know if I would've seen it in theatres. The quality in animation isn't that great in comparison to other animated films, and the story does seem a bit sub
Superman Iii
"Superman III" is perhaps one of the biggest disappointments of all time. The film is based on the popular flagship character from D.C. comics. In the film, a powerful business man tries to create a super computer, that can control weather, to take over the world by enlisting the aid of a bumbling computer whiz played by Richard Pryor. In their grand scheme to bump Superman out of the way, they create a special red kryptonite that turns Superman into a bad guy. Meanwhile, Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent, gets reaquainted with his old high school sweet heart, Lana Lang. For those of you that's expecting the same magic that made the first two films great, this movie fails to live up to it. The direction seemed lacklustered at times, special effects were mediocre, and the storyline was uninteresting. Another disappointing sequel. In the film, the story is written in a third person point of view by illustrating Richard Pryor as the main character. I remember growing as a kid various Su
Batman & Robin
Out of all the films I've seen, this one just plain sucks. I wish I could say something positive out of this film other than saying that this is probably the only film out of the series thus far (except for Batman Begins) that shows a deep connection between Alfred and Bruce Wayne. Also, how it seems that George Clooney will most likely be unfairly blamed for all of this film's follies. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say he did a great job at being Batman but with lines like, "Batcredit card, I never leave the cave without one", would make any actor look stupid playing Batman. The film is based off the classic DC characters, Batman (George Clooney) and Robin (Chris O'Donnel), where they have been together for a while and have gotten on each other's nerves. Throw in Batgirl and Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenneger) with him trying to intimidate us with his "Terminator attitude" trying to cure his wife, but I'm not too scary to sing songs like, "I'm Mr. White Christmas." Also, lets no
Street Fighter
Capcom's infamous fighting game makes its' way to the big screen. There's a lot of ways I could sum up my feelings for this film, but I'll just use one word to describe this one, appalling. The movie is based off the popular video game, "Street Fighter II", and it features stars such as Jean Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia. According to the film's story, M. Bison (Raul Julia) plans on global domination unless the United Nation pays him one jillion dollars. Gee, I never would've thought a jillion was a actual number until I saw this film, (sarcasticly) it doesnt seem like a bull **** made up number at all. However, it's up to Guile (Van Damme) to lead a series of wariors to stop Bison. First of all, I never been a Van Damme fan, and this film did very little to convert me. Hell, the special effects were so bad that when Bison and Guile fought each other, you could practically see the wire carrying Bison to make it look like he was flying. The fight scenes in this film seemed very unreal
Wedding Crashers
"Wedding Crashers" is one of the funniest films I've ever seen. The film is basically about two divorce mediators, played by Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, whom likes to get together and crash weddings in order to meet and seduce women. Not a bad idea, considering some of the girls they meet in the movie, but things change when Owen Wilson's character falls in love with a girl at one of these weddings. Thus, changing both their lives forever. Owen's character, John, falls in love with the "Secretary of Treasury's" daughter, Claire, and she's already engaged. However, John devises a plan swoon the young lady's heart. Unfortunately, though, this also puts Vince's character, Jeremy, in some ackward and in some cases hurtful positions in the film, yet it's just too damn funny. Audiences will laugh outragiously when they see Vince tied up and getting seduced by a guy. Or when they play touch football. This film was just a laugh riot. Of course, you still have the typical Hollywood cliche l
Troy
"Troy" is perhaps one of the most action packed films of 2004. The film is based off the Illiad about the famous war between the Greeks and the Trojans, over the love of a Greek princess; showing how it ultimately led to one of the greatest battles in Greek mythology. The film's visuals in the movie were great, but it's too reminiscent of the other movies like "Gladiator." Another problem I had with the film, the movie seemed to have many stereotype characters and few scenes that would make it stand out from other epic films such as "Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring" or "Brave Heart," to name a few. However, the acting of Brad Pitt (Achiles) and Eric Bana(Hector) make up for most of these flaws, to create some of the film's few memorable scenes. The level of detail in the recreation of the famous Greek battle was excellent from the costume design to the stage area. Overall, "Troy" is one of the best epic films of last year despite it's shortcomings. The set disign and c
The Punisher (2004)
"The Punisher" is one of the most intriquing super hero films I've ever seen. The film is based off the popular Marvel comic book character. The story begins with an undercover cop, Frank Castle (Tom Jane) busting a son of a mafia leader, Howard Saint (John Travolta), in a drug shipment. However, when Howard finds out about it, he orders to have Frank's entire family killed at a family reunion. Frank, being the sole survivor of the massacre, vows revenge, and dedicates his life to punishing the guilty and aiding the innocent using nothing but guns and violence. The good old American way! The story is basically your run of the mill revenge tale, but the direction and character development engulfs the viewer into the film. The visuals were intense allowing for people to see the violent life Frank leads after becoming the Punisher. However, it seems like the film goes too far out it's way to show excessive violence. In one scene, you see Frank cut a man's head in half with a knife. Oh yea
Alack.
I know I have been on LC hardly at all lately. But I have an excuse. An old friend of Damian and I's has been stalking me in attempt to get to Damian. It got far enough that I had to contact the CEO of the Harrisburg branch of Pennsylvania State Hospital and the police because he was harassing us and threatening us. It sucked. Balls. But, hopefully it's all over with, now and I can get back to normal.
50 First Dates
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore heat up the screen together again, in another romantic comedy. The film is about a hawaiin resident marine biologist, played by Adam Sandler, whom has a reputation for having one night stands with several female tourists. However, things change when he falls in love with Drew Barrymore, whom plays a woman that has suffered severe brain damage due to a car accident a year ago. This accident causes her to be unable to form new memories after each day since. This situation puts Sandler where he has to make Drew fall in love with him every day, so they can be together. Like all Sandler films, the story is predictable and cliches are abundant in the movie, as well as the typical weirdo played by Rob Schneider. Fortunately, Sandler and Barrymore display the same chemistry that made the "Wedding Singer" a good comedy. The film is great for a few good laughs, but don't expect anything witty about it.
Garfield
America's favorite fat cat finally makes his big screen debut. Following in the footsteps of other animated characters brought to the big screen like Scooby Doo and George of the Jungle. The story is essentially about how Jon Arbuckle adopts Odie to impress a veterinarian girl, but when Odie runs away, it's up to Garfield to save him. Garfield is brought to life via computer animation while the other animals are real. The animation is fairly decent at best, and the story is bit simplistic for my taste. However, the film did seem pretty funny at times like when Garfield tried to get Odie to fall for his trap. It kind of reminded me of my youth watching the cartoon as a kid. I think parents and children will enjoy this film. Parents can enjoy it because they grew up with the character while kids will love it because...its Garfield damn it! Overall, "Garfield" is a great family film.
Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring
Perhaps one of the greatest stories ever told makes its' cinematic debut. Based off a series of novels by J.R. Tolkein, the film is about how Sauron (a.k.a. Satan) gives away several rings of power to each of Middle Earth's kingdoms (Elves, humans, and dwarfs). Unknowingly to everyone, Sauron creates another ring, one which is capable of ruling all the other rings, thus allowing him to take over the world. An epic battle rages on until Eliciador, human ruler of Gondor, vanquishes Sauron. However, because of Eliciador's greed, the ring isn't destroyed. Eventually, a series of events happen where Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holm), of the Shire, finds and keeps the ring, and uses it to save the world. However, once Bilbo and his sorcerer friend, Gandalf (Ian McKellen) discover the ring's true origin, and how Sauron's life is tied to the ring. Thus, almost assuring of his return. Gandalf sends Frodo (Elijah Wood), Bilbo's nephew, and Samwise (Sean Astin) along with a group of warriors to go to Mord
Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
Peter Jackson and company return to continue the epic story. Based off a series of novels by Tolkein, the film essentially picks up where the first one left off. Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Samwise (Sean Astin) are on their way to Mordor to destroy the ring before Sauron can get a hold of it and take over the world. Along the way, they bump into a suspicious character, Gollum (voiced by Andy Serkis), that also has his eyes on the ring, so he tries to manipulate our two heroes to reclaim it. Meanwhile, Aragorn (Viggo Mortenson), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) continue their search for Merry (Dominic Monahagan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) after they were kidnapped by Orcs in the last film. After the two naive Hobbits escape, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Merry and Pippin discover that Sauron plans on weakening the human kingdom of Rohan by controlling their king. However, once Gandalf (Ian McKellen) saves the king from Sauron's spell, it's then that our heroes discover that Roh
Son Of The Mask
The Mask makes his return to the big screen but without the comedic flare of the "Tex Avery" style comedy of the prequel. Speaking of the name Avery, the film's main character is named Tim Avery (James Kennedy), a struggling cartoonist that basically has low self-esteem and has his own doubts about entering fatherhood. I'm sure entering parenthood can be a frightful experience for everyone with the responsibility and all (I wouldn't know though), but it can be especially harder when your son has almost "cartoon-god" like powers. Tim Avery one night finds the Mask, that Stanley Ipkiss used in the first one, to wear for a big costume party where he meets up with a girl, and sleeps with her. After they get married and conceive their first child, the child doesn't acknowledge or respect Tim as a father, so this causes all sorts of mischief. Milo, Tim's dog, grows extremely jealous of the baby as he steals Tim's attention, so he uses the Mask to try to get rid of the kid but what happens is
Bowling For Columbine
"Bowling for Columbine" is perhaps one of the deepest documentaries, ever to capture the violent nature of American life. Michael Moore's documentary, "Bowling for Coumbine" is based on the tragic events at Columbine, where two high school students shot their classmates before pulling the trigger on themselves. From this event Moore goes over other tragedies like a boy shooting a girl at an elementary school and many others, in an attempt to explain our violent nature. Of course, like most of Moore's documentaries, this one partially serves for his own political agendas like his stance against the NRA and Wal-Mart, but he's able to raise a lot of key questions about our society. Going over how the media overblows everything to be more dangerous than they actually are, and how it causes us to learn how to descriminate against minorities (specifically African Americans). Even offering enlightening interviews that offer various people's opinions on our violent nature from the likes of Mar
Super Mario Brothers
One fine example of how Hollywood doesn't understand video games. Based off the popular video game franchise from Nintendo Entertainment, about two plumbers that fight against King Koopa to save the Mushroom Kingdom and rescue Princess Peach. However, in the film, it tells a story of two Italian brothers, Mario (Bob Hoskins) and Luigi (John Leguizamo) from Brooklyn, who follow a young girl, Daisy, with a mysterious past into a mega city, Mushroom City. Along the way they bump into Mayor Koopa (Dennis Hopper), whom plans on capturing Daisy, so he can take over the Mushroom Kingdom and our world as well. Unlike the game, Daisy, whom turns out to be a princess, falls in love with Luigi. And Yoshi turns out to be a baby Raptor while Toad turns out to be a mutated goon of Mayor Koopa. Oh yeah, and Bowser is rewritten to be a fat black woman whom Mario seduces into helping them take on Koopa's army. I remember as a kid, I used to love watching this film. Almost as much as I used to love the
Superman Ii
"Superman II" is perhaps one of the greatest sequels of all time. The film is based off the popular D.C. comics character, whom is sent to Earth as a baby in order to avoid the fate of dying on an exploding planet, Krypton. Before Superman is sent to Earth, though, Jor-El, Superman's father, imprisons three Kryptonian criminals into a phantom zone where they're sent whirling through space. However, due to an meteor crash with the phantom zone, the three Kryptonians are released from thier prison, and team up with the notorious Lex Luthor to seek revenge against Superman. Meanwhile, Lois Lane soon discovers that her bumbling newspaper colleague, Clark Kent, and the guy of her dreams, Superman, are one in the same. However, this discovery forces Superman to debate between his heroic obligations and his human emotions. Christopher Reeves (Superman/Clark Kent) and Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) create a lot of the same chemistry together that made the first film a classic, and take it to a whol
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
This is definitely one of the deepest films ever made. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" poses a unique question on whether it's good or bad that we forget our pasts. I mean it's often said that our pasts define who we are, yet I'm sure many of us have memories that are too painful to remember. Whether it's a loss of a loved one or a failed relationship, we've all been through that at some point in our lives. As usual Kaufman is able to create a truly spectacular film about the human mind and how our relationships tend to shape our lives whether we want to remember them or not. Featuring an all star cast of Jim Carrey (Joel Barish), Kate Winslet (Clementine Kruczynski), Kirsten Dunst (Mary) and Elijah Wood (Patrick). The film is about a young man, Joel Barish, whom falls in love with a girl named Clementine after he has been going through relationship problems with his fiance. From here, it seems like the old philosophy of "opposites attract" seems to ring true for this couple un
March Of The Penguins
"March of the Penguins" will be one to remember. Narrated by Morgan Freeman; this documentary follows the mating cycle of Penguins, in the South Pole. Displaying the tragic feats these magnificient creatures endure, during each mating season, such as predators, starvation and harsh environmental elements, so life can be born. It goes on to show how penguins raise their young until they become old enough to survive on their own. The film's cinematic appeal is breathtaking. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen as these penguins marched through miles of snow to fetch food for their young in predator infested waters. I was especially intriqued as the fathers would often have to wait for several weeks without food, and having to wait in temperatures up to negative eighty degrees below zero, while the mothers would have to go back and replenish themselves after giving birth. To some younger viewers, these violent displays of penguins dying from starvation, freezing to death and even gettin
Meet The Parents
The perfect guy picture for those who ever suffered angst when meeting the in-laws or just meeting your girl friend's parents. Indeed, Ben Stiller's film pokes fun of all the angst and ackwardness one would feel when meeting your in-laws, but turned up about ten times more. This film is about a young male nurse named Greg a.k.a. Gaylord Focker (Ben Stiller), whom proposes to the woman of his dreams but before they wed, he must get her father's approval. It's then Greg must endure all types of humilation and torment from his father in-law, Jack Burns (Robert DeNiro). Having to go through an insanely over protective father that puts Greg's life under a microscope with hidden cameras, CIA interogations, plumbing problems, cat chasing, being mocked openly about his career and having him feel like @#$ll the time. Heck, and you thought your in-laws were tough. This film was just too darn hillarious at times like when Robert DeNiro interrogates Ben Stiller, while he's strapped to a lie detect
Mental Masterbation
The most exciting thing I did today consisted of going to Literotica website and reading some sex stories. Yeah I find that way more stimulating than looking at pictures or watching nasty DVD's cuz you have to use your mind and picture what is being said. Porn is so overrated its not nearly as good as a good story written for people to read. I can replay that story in my head for later use too...Its a gift I have how I can remember these things later on while lying in bed and conjure up what i read earlier that day, last week or even a year ago for that matter. It still works. Great mental stimulation. Great mental masterbation!!! WOOHOO!! does anyone else do this or am i alone in this world?
Meet The Fockers
Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro are back for another sequel along with new comers Dustin Hoffman (Bernie Focker) and Barbara Streisand (Roz Focker). After surviving the horror of having his life scrutinized by his father in-law, Jack Burns (Robert DeNiro), Greg (Ben Stiller) must now prepare to have his own parents under the same kind of scrutiny. However, it seems with the help of his parents, they plan on "Fockerizing Jack (in other words loosen him up)." Which proves easier said than done as Greg's parents appear to be the polar opposite Pam's parents. Unlike the cold military father-in law, Bernie and Roz are more upbeat, free spirited and open about sex. Heck, they even brag about how Greg gets laid for the first time by his baby sitter. Yeah, and you thought your parents were bad. As it seems though like most sequels, this one just seems to run off the same angst humor, but it does have a bit of a twist to it. Showing how we often get embarassed by are own parents. Overall, though,
The Tuxedo
Jennifer Love Hewitt is the only person that can make a Jackie Chan film suck. Okay, that's being too harsh by placing the blame on one person because the poorly mediocre script, and a director, who wanted to present this film like a bad high school movie instead of dare I say...gasp...secret agents (which is what the film is supposed to be, anyway), had contributed to this film's medeocrity. The film is about this a Chinese shoufer that's been assigned to shoufer a highly trained secret agent wearing a advanced tuxedo, a la James Bond type with gadgets galore, until he is put in the hospital by a gang of drug dealers. Now, it's up to Jackie Chan to put on the tuxedo and finish the mission with assistance of Jennifer Love Hewitt, whom thinks that Jackie is the original agent. Don't get me wrong. I love all of Jackie Chan's films (the ones released in the U.S. anyway) even though most of them are typically cliched and involve almost similar types of jokes. However, Jackie Chan's brillia
Team America: World Police
"America...*$&eah!!!" From the creators of "South Park", comes another offensive cartoon that'll mock just about everything that is good and decent in America while capitalizing on the "War on Terror." I wouldn't want it any other way. For those who are familiar with Trey Parker and Matt Stone's work, would know that this isn't even close to being as controversial as their hit TV animated series, "South Park." Therefore, it shouldn't come off as much of a shock at how much offensive humor these guys try to cram into this film. However, it was surprising that, two years earlier, "Collateral Damage" was criticized for capitalizing on the 9/11 tragedy because it was about terrorism even though it was made before that incident; yet "Team America: World Police" never received that kind of criticism for doing the same thing, but in a more comical way. I guess we're either a nation of morons that allows people to get away with anything as long as it's a cartoon, or it's because we're so used
Steel
Another lame film by Shaq. I know many people will probably blame Shaq's acting in this film for all its' follies, and I wouldn't blame them. Apart from just looking like the comic book character, he lacked the confliction that was neccessary for the character. In the D.C. Comics' version, John Henry Irons a.k.a Steel (Shaquille O' Neal) was a man that was conflicted by how his inventions, for the military, were sold to rival gang members by the company he worked for. Feeling responsible he would take his anger to the streets. In this film, though, Shaq seemed like he was just joking around like we're used to seeing him off the court. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, but it was completely uncharacteristic for the character he playing. However, to be fair, Shaq wasn't entirely responsible for this film turning out so bland. Like most comic book spin off films such as "Catwoman" and "Supergirl", to name a few, this one rarely was faithful to the comic book. Not to sou
Supergirl
Where do I begin with this lovely sexy super vixen's film? Based off the classic D.C. character, this film uses the original version of Supergirl. Where Supergirl a.k.a. Linda Lee (Helen Slater) is Superman's cousin from Krypton, and inheritingly has all the same powers as well. In the movie, Supergirl resides on Argo City, the last surviving city of Krypton. However, as luck would have it, Supergirl is shown an orb that has the power to create almost anything out of thin air. Unfortunately, one of the things she creates causes a major hole into their city that threatens their survival. To make matters worse, the orb somehow falls to Earth, where Selena (Faye Dunaway), a sorceress, tries to use the orb's powers to take over the world. Hell, there's even a pointless love story that involves a guy named Ethan being fought over by Supergirl and Serelena; and Jimmy Olsen makes a cameo too. First of all, I agree with many people that Helen Slater was drop dead sexy and gorgeous as Supergirl
Mean Girls
Mean Girls is perhaps one of the most funniest films of last year despite its' mediocrity. The film is about a typically normal, sweet, innocent girl next door type, played by Lindsey Lohan, trying to fit into the status quo of the popular girls in high school. However, in doing so she becomes the class jerk that makes everyone realize that it doesn't matter how popular you are in high school, but everyone is the same. Lindsey was great in the film, and it makes me very happy to know that she's legal because now I can say stuff like how freakin hot she looked in the film. I just wish she did a tasty lingerie scene or perhaps a bikini scene. I know I'm a jerk for mentioning that but at least I'm honest. Lol (Laugh out loud). Seriously, the film's story seemed cliche driven with several stereotypes about high school. You have the naive dumb jocks, the stuck up princesses, the bad asses, and the weird ass rejects from hell. The movie is drenched in cliches gallore, and it features the typ
Hellboy
"Hellboy" makes his debut on the big screen! The film is based off the Dark Horse comic character about a demon from hell, trained by the government to fight the supernatural forces of the Earth. Along with his other two mutant friends, Hellboy fights the forces of hell. The special effects were good as expected, but the story was somewhat mediocre at best. However, "Hellboy" does serve as a palatable film for the family to enjoy. Although the visuals aren't going to be pushing the envelope of special effects, the visual effects' artists do a pretty good job for the film by animating all the demons and fire perfectly. Alas, the story, though, is mediocre at best. The film tries to make "Hellboy" into another X-Men film where Hellboy has to protect a world that both hates and fears him, and the love story was never fleshed out. The love story for Hellboy seemed like it was a bit rushed, and viewers never saw how the relationship started. However, despite this flaw, "Hellboy"
Finding Neverland
"Finding Neverland" is perhaps one of the most uplifting films of last year. The film is about the famous playwright, J.M. Berry (Johhny Depp), about where he finds his inspiration for creating one of the most famous fairy tales of our time. In the movie, Berry meets Mrs. Davies(Kate Winslet), widowed mother raising four children, in the park and decides to spend more time with them because he likes being around kids. Of course, though, to make things interesting, the film has a child named Peter, whom the film ties a close relationship between him and Berry. However, this film does leave a lot to be desired because it feels as though some things about Berry's life were left out like his marriage problems, for example. Overall, despite its' flaws, "Finding Neverland" is one of the best family films of last year. Johhny Depp's performance was simply brilliant in this film. If there ever was a guy who could play effeminate male who acts like a child and hangs out with a widow, just to
Shrek
"Shrek" is perhaps one of the funniest films of all time. The film is essentialty a spoof of modern fairy tales like Cinderella and Snow White, and it throws in an unlikely hero in it, an Ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers) with a donkey (Eddie Murphy) as a sidekick. The story starts out about Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), from the land of Far Far Away, being locked away in a tower waiting for prince charming to rescue her. Meanwhile, Prince Farquad (Jon Lithgow)wants to become king, but he has to get married in order to do so. However, when Farquad finds out about Fiona, he hires Shrek and donkey to rescue her for him. Along the way, the film offers tons of laughs, and a solid storyline for everyone to enjoy. I was especially impressed with the high level of animation. At one point, some of the backgrounds seemed almost too real like the mud, beer, and how the forests were animated in general. Overall, "Shrek" is a great family film.
Shrek 2
Dreamworks reunites the cast along with some newcomers to create a great sequel. The film basically picks up where the last movie left off where Shrek and Fiona are on their honeymoon together, "living happily ever after." However, that happiness is short lived when Fiona takes Shrek to meet her family. Now, I'm pretty sure a lot of married folk can understand how the in-laws can be at times. However, in this film, Fioana's father, the king (Jon Cleese), arranges to have to have Shrek killed by Puss in boots (Antonio Banderas) while fixing it to where Fiona can fall in love with Prince Charming. Oh yeah, with family like that, you don't need any enemies. The level of animation in this film is raised to a whole new level in terms of detail and as expected the actors are in top form. "Shrek 2" is a great sequel that surpasses the original in every way. The actors in this film do a great job dishing out the laughs. In one scene, it has the audience laughing when Shrek and donkey fight
Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone
The popular children book series finally makes it's big screen debut. The film is based off the popular Harry Potter book series which tells a story about a young boy, Harry Potter, whom lives in a neglected home, in London, until one day he discovers that he's a son of a great wizard. Upon this discovery, Harry is escorted, by a giant named Hagrid, to Hogwartz Wizard School to learn how to hone his powers. However, all is not well when Harry soon discovers that his parent's murderer is after him, so it's up to Harry and his pals to stop the murderer. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with this film. I'm sure if I was younger, then I would've been totally stoked over this movie. However, that's not to say that this is a bad film to watch. The special effects were good as one would expect but after seeing so many other films redefine the standard of special effects, in movies, like "Independence Day", "Star Wars" prequels, and so on, Harry Potter isn't going to change the standard. The s
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
Harry Potter finally grows up, and I have to say it's about time. When my parents dragged to see this film, I kept running through my mind that this'll be like the last movie which is more of the same. However, to my surprise, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" turned out to be a pretty damn good film. Even though there are still the same cliches, from the last two, of someone trying to kill Harry, and it's up to Harry and his friends to save the day, it does offer a deeper story than that. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is based off the book of the same name, in which a wizard is falsely accused of murder, so he seeks help from his nephew, Harry Potter. However, Harry doesn't realize that the wizard is his uncle until the end, so he goes on thinking throughout most of the film that the wizard is one of the guys responsible for killing his parents. The special effects for this film were better for this one. Overall, I would say this is the best Harry Potter film I'v
Ray
Jamie Foxx gives a performance of a life time in his academy award winning film, "Ray." The movie chronicles the life of legendary musician, Ray Charles Robinson, as he struggles through life with drug addiction and relationship problems while tearing up the charts in jazz/gospel/country. The film's story and direction were good but what really stood out was Jamie's performance. At first, I thought Foxx would ham up this role but after seeing his other film, "Collateral", I thought I give this one a shot, and I'm glad I did. The visuals and music for this film were superb. Overall, "Ray" is one of the best films of 2004. Taylor Hackford did a great job directing this film as well. Hackford was able to create a great sympathetic story about a man that has made several mistakes in life but was able to overcome it in the end. For example, in one scene, it shows Ray (Jamie Foxx) arguing with one his friends over money after showing up late for band practice. This scene symbolizes how Ra
Dodgeball
"Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" is one of the funniest films I've seen last year. The movie is essentially a parody of several sports films about the underdog defying impossible odds. In the film, Vince Vaughn plays an "average joe" who plays a owner of a small gym called Average Joes. However, Ben Stiller comes along with his conglomerate, Global Gym, and threatens to buy out Vince's gym unless he can come up with fifty thousand dollars in a few weeks. As luck would have it though, Vince and his friends join a dodgeball tournament to win the money, but Global Gym enters to try to stop them in their tracks. Ben Stiller is still his comedically funny self without the toilet humor this time (thank god), and Vince manages to remain his usually funny yet slightly sarcastic at times humor alive. Both actors are able to create alot of great chemistry like when they argue in the bar, and Ben just repeats everything Vince says. I couldn't stop laughing histarically while watching it. Howeve
Batman Forever
Surprisingly, better than I expected. Without Tim Burton directing this one, I was a bit skeptical. However, Joel Schumacher has come up with a decent film. The movie is based off the dynamic duo from D.C. comics. In the film, Batman/Bruce Wayne (Val Kilmer) is at a point in his life where he discovers that revenge has consumed his whole life and goes through somewhat of a mid life crisis. Later, Bruce is forced to take on a young ward, Robin/Dick Grayson (Chris O'Donnell) after Dick's family dies at the hands of Two Face/Harvey Dent (Tommy Lee Jones). Meanwhile, Bruce fires a nerdy employee, Edward Nygma/Riddler (Jim Carrey), whom vows revenge at any cost and enlists the aid of Two Face. To be honest, the film did seem a bit too campy at times for my personal tastes, and the characters didn't have the sinister presence of the first two films. However, I do admit the action scenes in this film were a lot more dynamic than in the previous films. This film may not be the as good as the p
Batman
The dark knight of D.C. Comics makes his big screen debut as a non campy character. After years of being portrayed as campy character through various saturday morning cartoons and the sixties live action show, Tim Burton finally does the dark knight some justice in portraying him in the way the character was meant to be played. The film is based off the flagship character from D.C. Comics in which a young man seeks vengeance against the criminal underworld after witnessing the death of his parents. The film features such actors as Michael Keaton (Batman/Bruce Wayne), Jack Nicholson (Joker/Jack Napier), and Kim Basinger (Vicki Vale). In the film, Batman is already established for quite sometime, and Burton uses flashbacks to explain his origin. Along the way, Bruce meets a young reporter named Vicki Vale whom he starts a affair with but is conflicted when she finds Bruce is not all he appears to be. Meanwhile, Jack Napier is a mafia hitman desiring more power in the criminal underworld
Batman: The Movie
It's Batman! Based off the cult TV series that was based off the comic book character. Adam West and Burt Ward bring their campy style Batman series to the big screen, and take on such foes as Penguin, Cat Woman, Joker, and Riddler. To be honest, I was never a fan of this show. However, from the few episodes I've seen, it seems to play true to what the series was. It was campy, cliched, and it had those crazy signs like, "whap", "pow", and so on. However, some Batman fans might be turned off by this because it portrays the character in such a campy way. The story seemed rather ridiculous and the acting seemed rather stupid. To be brief, I'll just say if your a fan of the old cult TV show sixties Batman, then knock yourself out. For everyone else, this film is good for a few laughs to make fun of it, but that's all it's good for.
Batman Returns
"Batman Returns" is one of the best super hero sequels that I've seen. The film is based off the popular comic book character of the same name. In the movie, Batman (Michael Keaton) is forced to take on a few new enemies. Facing the wrath of a deformed Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot (Danny DeVito) whom is bent on being accepted by Gotham City through any means possible. Whether it be running for mayor or through killing all the first born sons of Gotham City. Meanwhile, Batman deals with a complex love/hate relationship with Sylina Kyle/Catwoman (Michelle Pfiefer) whom is transformed into Catwoman after being killed by corrupt billionaire Max Shrek (Christopher Walken). To some fans, this movie may come off as too dark, but I think Burton has given the movie kind of a dark twisted love story to go with the same theme of the last film that makes it worth watching. Michael Keaton was excellent in this role, and the chemistry between him and Pfiefer was superb. And of course, Danny DeVito does
Catwoman
This film just reeks. Based off the popular comic book heroine of D.C. Comics. Warner Brothers has introduced a new Catwoman and completely disregards all of the character's history. I know many comic book fans might get upset about the whole origin changing bit, but I thought the origin seemed kind of cool in the movie. Especially, how they were able to link it to Egyptian cats. Even though, I liked the, "Batman Returns" Catwoman, this one seemed to give the character a bit more of a back story. At least, the film gave a good reason why Catwoman was brought back to life. Instead, of the dark mysterious resurection of "Batman Returns." Plus, Halle Berry looked so hot in that Catwoman outfit. However, what's bad about this movie? Well, everything else. The entire story for this film (except Catwoman's new origin) was just awful. Plus, none of this is helped when you have cliched acting and mediocre special effects. In the film, Felicity Price/Catwoman (Halle Berry) is killed off after s
Spider-man
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is making his big screen debut. As it seems with the success of other super heroe films like "Blade" and "X-Men", it seems only fitting that Marvel's flagship character is set to make his triumphant debut onto the big screen. The movie is based off the popular comic book icon, Spider-Man. The film tells the story of a young Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) whom is described as a outcast and somewhat of a nerd, but he's transformed one day when he's bitten by a genetically altered spider. Thus, giving Peter the powers of a man size spider, and the opportunity and confidence to win the heart of his neighbor, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). Whether it meant beating up her boyfriend, Flash Thompson or winning a wrestling match to earn money for a new car. Unfortunately, though, Peter soon learns as his Uncle Ben stated, "With great power, comes great responsibility." Meanwhile, Peter's idol, Norman Osborne (Willem Defoe), is under a lot of pressure to de
Spider-man 2
Everyone's favorite web head is back for a sequel. Based off the popular comic book; the film takes place a couple of years after the events of the first movie. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is now living on his own, and he's struggling with his life from his job, school and relationships because of his obligation to be Spider-Man. While yearning to live a normal life, Peter soon discovers that his powers are disappearing as well as his relationships with his best friend, Harry Osborne (Tom Franco), and his love interest, Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). During the film, Peter goes on a journey of self reflection and learns in order to do what's right, we all have to be willing to give up the things we want the most. Meanwhile, Dr. Otto Octavius/Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina) is hired by OsCorp to find a way to harness uradium using mechanical arms. Unfortunately, the experiment fails and causes Dr. Octavius' body to become permanently fused with six mechanical arms, thus creating Dr. Octopus. U
Blankman
Damon Wayons and David Allan Grier are here to present the dynamic parody of the original Batman sixties TV series. Featuring the two stars of "In Living Color" and Robin Givens. The film is basically about a nerdy inventor whom seeks revenge against the mafia leader that killed his Grandmother by becoming a poor man's version of Batman. Of course, taking the help of sultry Robin Givens and his sidekicks, Other Guy (David Allan Grier) and J-5, Blankman (Damon Wayons) fights crime using cliched "one-liners" and homemade gadgets made from trash. Granted, this isn't the most witty comedy I've seen, but it does a good job at making fun of all the super hero cliches out there. Its good for a few laughs, and it's not to be taken too seriously. Therefore, if your a big fan of Damon Wayons and David Allan Grier, then knock yourself with this one.
Masters Of The Universe
Does anyone honestly remember the eighties' "He-Man" cartoon? It seemed like only yesterday that me and my friends would watch that show every saturday morning. I'll admit this was one of my favorite films growing up as a kid but looking back at it now, makes me realize how utterly awful this movie is. Based off the classic cartoon show, the film is about the ongoing battle between Skeletor and He-Man over the fate of Eternia. However, at some point in the film, their battle takes them to our universe, on Earth, where the battle between them would undoubtedly decide the fate of both worlds. Featuring a young Courtney Cox and Dolph Lundgren (He-Man). This film just shows how awful Lundgren is as an actor. Every line this guy says sounds too generic, and makes me realize why Slyvester Stallone would give him very little lines in "Rocky IV." As far as the special effects go, they're pretty good. I remember when I first saw this film, it seemed kind of cool that He-Man visited our world. U
Should I ?
haha should i sing to u more often ? :P
Meteor Man
Robert Townsend is back on the big screen in his latest super hero film, "The Meteor Man." The film is essentially about a school teacher whom is given super powers after being struck by a meteor. However, a gang, calling themselves the Golden Lords, challenges him for control of a urban Washington neighborhood. The film is pretty much a rip off of Superman, and the acting is just cliched and generic. As for the special effects, they were essentially border line decent. Nothing to raise an eyebrow at but just sufficient enough for the film. However, that's not to say that this film doesn't have its' moments. It can be funny, at times, as well as keep you in suspense. It was funny when Robert tries to use his x-ray vision to see naked women, and when Bill Cosby used his powers to watch his neighbors TV. Plus, the final fight scene was kind of cool. However, the best part of the movie was the quote that stood out for me was Robert's one line, "Everyone relies on the police. They're not p
The Incredibles
This looks like a job for "The Incredibles." Disney/Pixar has outdone themselves again in this modern classic. The computer animation and the sound effects were just amazing. Creating a non-stop thrill ride of super cool. Pixar's newest incarnation tells the story of a legendary super heroe, Mr. Incredible a.k.a. Bob Parr, whom is forced to retire after saving a guy, who attempted to commit suicide and sued Mr. Incredible for saving him. This causes a chain reaction of other frivalous law suits against super heroes, and the government is forced to relocate supers and forbid them from using their powers. Years later, Bob has now settled down in the suburbs with his wife, Helen, whom was a legendary super in her own right as Elasti-Girl. They have three kids named Jack-Jack, Violet and Dash; each with their own unique abilities. Bob struggles with his mediocre average life working for an insurance company while his kid's struggle to hide their powers and try to fit in. However, Mr. Incre
Unbreakable
M. Night Shyamalan is back for another great film. The film is about an average man, David Dunn (Bruce Willis), who becomes the sole survivor of a terrible train crash-with no scratches or injuries. He later meets a mysterious stranger, Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson). Elijah believes comic book heroes walk the earth, and his obsession with David changes David's life forever. Shyamalan's direction was just excellent in this film by using a dark tone while grounding this one in a real world like environment. This film doesn't need any flashy fight scenes nor cool costumes, but it has something much more to offer, substance. Almost making these characters seem more like real people. Bruce and Jackson were just great together. "Unbreakable" is one of the best films I've seen. Shyamalan sets a great tone for the film. Using a real world like environment, thus making these characters seem almost real. Bruce and Jackson's chemistry together was great. In scenes like when David talks
Batman Begins
This is the best Batman movie I've ever seen. Unlike Burton's dark gothic tone or the light campy touch of Schumacher, Chris Nolan uses a gritty dark realistic approach to the dark knight. This approach works very well for the protagonist because it allows the movie to stay true to the dark history of the comic book, and it takes it to another level; making the characters seem real. Christian Bale was just excellent as Batman/Bruce Wayne; surpassing even Clooney, Kilmer and even Keaton. I know many people would still argue that Michael Keaton was the best Batman, but he's not able to play both sides like Bale could in "Batman Begins." In the first two films, Burton never fleshed out too much of the Bruce Wayne persona, and it used only used brief flashbacks to explain the character. Val Kilmer, had all the charisma to be a great Bruce Wayne, but he came off as a bit too soft when he was in the Bat suit. As for Clooney, well...at least he tried despite a horrific script. Christian Bale
The Hulk
Ang Lee brings his unique take on "The Incredible Hulk" to the big screen. The movie is based off the popular Marvel Comic book, about a man that's turned into a monster after being hit with gamma radiation. In the movie, Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) is exposed to chemicals his father put in him as a kid and triggered by a gamma ray accident which inevitably cause him to turn into the Hulk whenever he gets mad. However, the military tries to capture the Hulk, but they prove unsuccessful while Bruce tries to maintain his relationship with his girl friend, Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly) even though her father is the one chasing him. Many fans of the TV show, might not like this film because of the computer animated Hulk, but what they fail to realize is that series was not faithful to the comic book like this one. Don't get me wrong. This film isn't entirely accurate either, but it's more faithful to the series than the TV show ever was. In the comic books, if Hulk got really pissed, then he
Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King
The final chapter in this epic saga has finally come to a climatic end. The movie is based off Tolkien's last book of his "Lord of the Rings" trilogy of novels; "Return of the King." The film picks up where "Two Towers" leaves off with Frodo and Sam being guided by the mischievious Golem to Mordor to destroy the ring while Aragorn is helping the last remaining men in the world to fight Sauron's forces. Peter Jackson creates the perfect tone of good versus evil throughout the film while displaying a lot of powerful themes like never giving up when all hope seems lost and accepting responsibility when the time is needed. However, it doesn't hurt the movie when you have great performances by Elijah Wood, Sir Ian McKellan, Viggo Mortensen, and of course Sean Astin. "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy is by far one of the best movie series in film history, and it's certainly the best sci-fi movie series (sorry George Lucas). The storyline in this film is what really stood out because of the
Far From Heaven
"Far From Heaven" is perhaps one of the finest masterpieces ever assembled on the big screen. The story is set back in the 1950's with a mother, Cathy Whittaker played by Julianne Moore, that seems to have the perfect family life. However, things aren't as perfect as they seem as she soon discovers frequent and shocking turn of events that cause her life to almost become utterly destroyed. Todd Haynes brilliant homage to classic 1950's dramas work perfectly for this film by elaborating the emotions and struggle of the character's themselves. I loved how Todd used the stereotype of modern 1950's families and completely shattered it with modern and controversial themes like homosexuality and interracial courtship. Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid deliver probably the best acting jobs ever to grace the big screen. However, the story is the greatest aspect of this film. As you'll become completely engulfed by the powerful themes of this film. Julianne Moore plays a mother, Cathy Whittaker,
X-men
America's favorite group of super heroes makes their big screen debut. The movie is based off the popular comic book series, in which a group of mutants protect the world that both hates and fears them. Meanwhile, a mutant named Magneto (Ian McKellan) tries to take over the world with his band of rogue mutants. Plus, Wolverine is caught in the middle with no recollection of his past. Bryan Singer does a great job at capturing the heart of the series. However, the film suffers from having too many characters, so the story is never able to build up a lot of the character's relationships with each other with the exception of Wolverine/Logan (Hugh Jackman). As it seems, any character(s) that has nothing to do with Wolverine in the film are mostly there to take up space. The CGI is good as well as the costume for the characters. I was glad to see Bryan decided to make the costumes a bit more realistic, and it helped make the characters more believable. Basically, "X-Men" may not be as stron
Spawn
One of America's most popular yet controversial comic characters comes to the big screen. Based off Todd McFarlane's comic of the same name, it tells a story of man, Al Simmons (Michael Jai White), who works as a government assassin, but he's killed in action and sent to hell, where he's recruited to be the new Spawn that leads Malbulga's (otherwise Satan) army in the epic battle between heaven and hell. Being watched by Clown/Violator (John Leguizamo), Spawn is forced to make a decision about his fate in the afterlife. Meanwhile, Al finds out that his wife married his best friend after he died. I know many fans could argue about the limited budget this film had for its' unsuccessful debut, but quite frankly it could've been a whole lot better. Heck, if the "Blair Witch Project" used only three thousand dollars and turn out to be a damn good film, then there's no excuse for this film, "Spawn." Even the Lord of the Rings series used seventy million dollars, for each movie, and those fil
Been Feeling A Little "blue"
Lord knows I have the name for it. I have been down abit. Mostly tired trying to take care of my oldest daughter and my grandbaby, they are living with me and my husband. She left her abusive drug using Husband and has a restraining order out on him. I did not want her to marry him in the first place he is 18 years older then her and very immature. He would hit on her smack her around shove her into walls and he even did this stuff when she was pregnate with their baby. He didn't give a damn, about my Baby girl. I am trying to help her, she is very depressed, not from missing him just from a lack of her meds, and she has had depression sence she was 16 so I mostly take care of the whole family at home while my Husband works. I clean, cook, and wash clothes, and take care of the baby more then her. She set's on the couch like a out of work zombie. I want to cry so hard, I am still trying to over come the Death of my Momma, I miss her so much, she would help me in this situation on advic
X2: X-men United
America's favorite group of outcasts are back for a sequel. Picking up where the last film left off, Wolverine is back from trying to find out a bit more about his mysterious past while the X-Men are forced into hiding because of a new nemesis, Stryker. Stryker is a human who believes that all mutants are a threat to humanity and wants them all to eliminated. Magneto is still contained in his plastic prison until he manages to escape, and he's forced to team up with the X-Men to confront this new nemesis. Meanwhile, Jean Grey's powers are growing and Wolverine seems to have a strange connection with Stryker. Unfortunately, this film falls into the same trap as the first one which it features too many characters. Also, any character that has no association with Wolverine or Rogue is just there for space. Even with Storm's bigger role (supposedly), it seemed liked her scenes were rather unnecessary. However, for every X-Men fan out there, the fight choreography is a lot better (especiall

Daredevil
Marvel's newest incarnation hits the big screen. Based off the classic Daredevil comic books. The film is essentially an origin story about a young boy whom is blinded by a batch of chemical but is given sonar vision (like a bat). Unfortunately, after the accident, Daredevil/Matt Murdock's (Ben Afleck) father is killed by vicious mafia leaders. Thus causing Matt to devote his life to fighting injustice as Daredevil. Along the way fighting the sultry Elecktra (Jennifer Gardner), his arch nemesis Kigpin (Michael Clark Duncan)and Bullseye. Aside from the action sequences and Bullseye, it seems like the film is basically a rip off of "Batman Returns." Copying the love story of two characters with similar situations becoming attracted to each other, but having to fight each other due to difficult circumstances. However, this one isn't as good. Ben and Jennifer both overact in the film, and the way the story is setup is cliched. Plus, a mediocre script doesn't help either. I know he's "the m
It's A Wonderful Life
Frank Cappra's film, about the human spirit and the importance of everyman's worth, is one of the most inspirational films I've ever seen. The story is about a man, George Bailey (James Stewart), whom runs the loan agency, his father owned, his whole life. However, in doing so, this causes George to have to give up his dreams on countless occasions to see the world. Meanwhile, George's rival, Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore), plans on putting him out of business when he steals Bailey's money. As luck would have it, George contemplates commiting suicide after his money is stolen but is stopped when a guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody (Henry Travers), steps in. Clarence, an angel trying to earn his wings, shows George what life would be like if he was never born, and how his life was not wasted in vain. I remember when I first saw this film, I almost cried. Don't get me wrong, I hardly ever cry while watching movies, but this film embodies everything positive about life that it'll warm the h
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Tim Burton brings his gothic touch to the big screen for the holidays. The film is about Jack Skellington a.k.a. "The Pumpkin King", whom runs halloween town. Unsatisfied with his success of running halloween every year, he decides to take a crack at another holiday to spice things up. When he visits Christmas Town by accident, Jack decides that he could run the holiday far better. Kidnapping old saint nick, but things go astray when Jack discovers that running x-mas is easier said than done. Jack's nemesis, Boogey, takes Santa from Jack, and it's up to Jack to set things right when his girlfriend convinces him of his errors. I'll admit this film isn't your typical run of the mill holiday classic, but it's definitely one of the most unique films I've ever seen. Plus, the visuals are just mind boggling. Definitely, a great film to watch for the holidays. Burton's dark gothic tone for the film shouldn't be too disturbing or scary to younger viewers. Burton uses a light tongue in cheek
Christmas Vacation
The Griswalds are back on vacation. Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid and Chevy Chase are back to reprise their roles, in another National Lampoon Vacation film. The movie is about the Griswalds going on vacation for the holidays. Unfortunately, though, Clark (Chevy Chase) encounters a series of unfortunate events from not getting his Christmas bonus, in-laws, obnoxious cousins, a squirel, and almost going to jail with his entire family. Folks have got to love those kind of Kodak moments. The film is pretty much more of the same. Chevy Chase is still the typical normal "father figure" in the begining, but is driven to the point of histarical insanity. And of course, Randy Quaid still plays the same hillarious free-loading moron that we all came to love in the first Vacation film. Despite dishing out the same type of cliched humor of the previous films, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" should still make just about anyone chuckle for the holiday season.
A Christmas Story
Bob Clark, "Porky's" director, takes on another film for the holidays. Based off the memoirs of Jean Shepherd and whom narrates the movie as well. The film focuses on a young boy named Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) whom is obsessed with the notion of getting a Red Rider BB gun for Christmas. However, his mother is opposed to the idea by saying he'll shoot his eye out. Ralphie unsuccessfully gets the aid of Santa Claus and his teacher while being harassed by a couple of bullies and almost getting caught in a feud between his parents over a lamp. I remember watching this film as a kid every Christmas morning, I used to laugh histarically. Featuring such scenes as when a kid gets his tongue stuck to a pole, and when Ralphie sees Santa will make any fan laugh until they drop. Unfortunately, though, the film does come off as a bit cheesy at times, and it can be cliched. Recently, though, I think Shepherd's story served as a light satire for the holidays. Ralphie's obsession with a Red Rider B
Jingle All The Way
It's movie time! Arnold Schwarzenneger, Phil Hartman, Martin Mull, and Sinbad are here to festivate the holidays. "Jingle All the Way" is about a neglectful workaholic father, Howard played by Arnold, trying to buy his son the most popular toy of the holiday season, a "Turbo Man" doll. Unfortunately, waiting until the last minute, Howard is forced to search all over town for the perfect toy from fighting a crowded mall, trouble with the police, Santa cronies, to having to dress up as the "Turbo Man" figure himself. However, facing stiff competition for the toy from a disgruntle mailman, played by Sinbad, and his neighbor, Ted (Phil Hartman), whom has his sights on Howard's wife. The special effects were palatable, but everything else seemed a bit cliched and overdone. As usual it has all the holiday cliches, and it does seem to go a bit overboard with parade scene where Sinbad and Arnold duke it out for the doll. However, the film is still pretty funny that should keep any family enter
Toy Story
To infinity and beyond! Pixar and Disney work together to create the world's first, and one of the best computer animated films of all time. The level of animation in this film is just mind boggling. Featuring the voices the of Tom Hanks (Woody) and Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear). The movie is about a toy, Woody, whom becomes jealous of another new toy, Buzz Lightyear, that his owner gets for holidays. However, through a series of odd circumstances causes Buzz to get lost, and it's up to Woody to bring him home safely. "Toy Story" is one of the best animated films I've ever seen. The level of animation in this film is definitely ahead of its' time. I remember when I first saw this movie, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Heck, all the famous toys that most of us have known and loved over the years are done well in this film from Mr. Potato Head to those plastic army guys. As it seems, Pixar/Disney has spared no expense in crafting such a masterpiece. "Toy Story" is a visual master
Yojimbo
Akira Kurasawa's action/comedy "Yojimbo" is one of the best action films ever made. "Yojimbo" is about a lone masterless samurai mercenary, Sanjuro (Toshiro Mifune), whom walks into a town filled with corruption and violence, as two rival gangs battle for control of the city. After a brief show of his skills, Sanjuro offers his help to the highest bidder, thus basically toying with them to get the best deal. However, his real scheme is to try to trick both sides, so they can wipe each other out. Unfortunately, though, Sanjuro's plans change as he also has to face another cunning mercenary, Unosuke (Tatsuya Nakadai), whom carries a modern weapon to take out his opponents; a gun. Faced with dismountable odds in numbers and advanced weaponry, Sanjuro displays moves if the audience were to blink, then they would miss the entire thing. Unlike Kurasawa's other films, which tell a deep story about the darkness of human nature with sentimental ties to humanity such as "Rashomon" and "Ran." Aki

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said "no". Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available. George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. "Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot them all." Then he hung up. Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips residence and caught the burglars red-handed. One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George s

Hold Your Loved Ones Close Today!!!
If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss, and call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time, I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute to stop and say "I Love you," instead of assuming you would KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time, I would be there to share your day, well, I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow, to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right. There will always be another day, to say "I Love you", and certainly there's another chance to say "Anything I can do?" But just in case

The Birth Of A Nation
"The Birth of a Nation" is perhaps one of the most controversial films that I've seen. The film is directed by legendary director D.W. Griffith in which he depicts the "Civil War" and the "Reconstruction era" in America through the eyes of two families, the Stonemans, from the North, and the Camerons, from the South. When the Civil War happens between the Union and the Confederacy, the two families side with their perspected regions. Stonemans side with the Union while the Camerons side with the Confederacy. After the war, Ben Cameron (Henry B. Walthall) is disheartened when he sees the South get overturn and ruled by the former slaves and carpetbaggers, so he organizes the several Southerners to form the Ku Klux Klan to help liberate the South. As for Ben's sister, Flora (Mae Marsh), she commits suicide trying to get away from the lustful advances of a renegade slave, Gus (Walter Long), so the Klan declares war on the Northern controlled government to inevitably restore order to the S
May Never See Tomorrow...
I may never see tomorrow; there's no written guarantee, And things that happened yesterday belong to history, I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past, I have just the present moment, I must treat it as my last, I must use this moment wisely for it soon will pass away, and be lost to me forever as part of yesterday, I must exercise compassion, help the fallen to their feet, Be a friend unto the friendless, make an empty life complete, The unkind things I do today may never be undone, And friendships that I fail to win may nevermore be won, I may not have another chance on bended knee to pray, And thank God with humble heart for giving me this day. _Mr Rush_in bulletin posted here as well
Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy
Attention, ladies and gentlemen. I have an urgent breaking news bulletin that'll shock the very fabric of our world. "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" has been known throughout the 2004 year to have people die and busting a gut laughing. Despite a cliched ridden plot and cheesy acting, somehow Will Ferrel along with an all star cast of comedians such as Tim Robbins, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black, Christina Applegate, and many others have managed to infect America with non-stop humor. Accomplice Adam McKay, the director, helped Will Ferrel write a script that could only be described as estrangely funny. In more breaking news on the matter, in one brief scene where several news journalists confronted each in what can only be called a news worthy blood bath of humor, caused several audience members to bust a gut laughing. For all viewers out there be warned, "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" is armed and extremely humorous. With graphic displays of bear fights, an anim
Men In Black
They walk among us while protecting us from intergalactic threats while helping aliens live peacefully yet unnoticed on Earth. They're organization doesn't officially exist; they're the "Men in Black." Berry Sonnenfeld, Will Smith (J a.k.a. James Edwards), and Tommy Lee Jones (K) are a dynamite team of comedy that'll keep audiences on the edge of their seat with plenty of thrills, action, and just plain fun to watch. The film is based off an old Marvel Comic book in which tells the story of a secret government organization that maintains order of alien activity on Earth without the public knowing about it. In the film, Will Smith plays a NYPD officer who accidentally stumbles onto an alien operation that could potentially put the entire planet in danger. After witnessing the young man's athletic ability as he chased down an alien renegade, K tries to recruit James into the organization. Being erased of all his identification, James becomes known as Agent J. Meanwhile, the alien threat

MIB is back to save the universe while Hollywood tries to milk out another money making franchise. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith are back for this blockbuster sequel. Based off an old Marvel Comic book, the movie is about how Agent J (Will Smith) must find the "Light of Zartha" before an evil creature named Serleena (Lara Flyn Boyle), a shape shifting alien, does along with her cohort, a two headed alien played by "Jackass" star, Johnny Knoxville. Meanwhile, former Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones), lives a simple and peaceful life as a divorced mailman with no recollection of his experience working for MIB. Unfortunately, for Agent J, the only person whom knows where the light is happens to be Agent K. Therefore, in a bit of a role reversal, Agent J goes out and tries to recruit Agent K while restoring his memories in the process, so they can save the world one more time. Along the way, Agent J falls in love with Laura (Rosario Dawson), whom might hold the key to the fate of the entire unive
Rashomon
"Rashomon" is dark and tragic exploration on the human perspective and the weakness of humanity. In what starts out as another rainy day, a priest (Minoru Chiaki), a wood cutter (Takashi Shimura) and a commoner (Kichijiro Ueda) are gathered under an old shrine to keep away from the rain. However, when the commoner sees how shaken up the wood cutter and priest are, he can't help but ask them what has them in such a shiver. It's then the viewer is told a dark story about a noble samurai, Takehiro (Masayuki Mori), escorting his wife, Masago (Machiko Kyo), through the woods until they run into a notorious bandit, Tajomaru (Toshiro Mifune). Tajomaru sees the young and beautiful Masago and decides to kill Takehiro to get her. In a sequence of events, their meeting ends with the death of Takehiro. However, the story doesn't end there. In what follows, the viewers are treated to four different perspectives on how it happened with each story having its' own variation of the truth. Exposing huma
Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
A timeless fairy tale that has captured the hearts of many, and creating a new generation of animated films that would follow in its' foot steps. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" was the first full length animated film, and was the first to one to win an Academy Award (for technical achievement). This film along with the creation of many other memorable Disney characters, created one of America's biggest franchises. Although the story is rather simplistic and obviously dated by today's standards, it's important to remember this film's historical significance. Without this film, modern classics like "The Incredibles", "Princess Mononoke" and many others wouldn't exist. The film is based off the fairy tale of a young princess, Snow White, whom is forced into hiding because of her evil step-mother, the queen. The queen wants to be the "fairest of them all." Tragically, as the queen discovers through her magic mirror, she finds that Snow White is "fairer", so she orders to have her killed
The Da Vinci Code
One of the most controversial stories ever told comes to the big screen. Based off the popular novel by Dan Brown, "The Da Vinci Code" tells the story of a famous symbologist, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), whom is called over by French police to help investigate a crime scene, at the Paris Louvre Museum. Tragically, though, one of the museum's leading curators is found dead with strange symbols carved on his body and around the area where he died. It's then, Robert meets a young cryptographer, Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), whom might hold the key to this mystery. However, as luck would have it, Robert soon finds out that this crime scene was used to set him up, as part of a huge conspiracy of humanity's biggest cover up. From here, Robert and Sophie discover various clues inside Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings that could hold the key to unlocking the mystery and about our messiah, Jesus Christ, himself. To be honest, I never read the book nor heard of it before the film came out. However,

looking softly into his eyes, she whispered that she loved him. giving a sigh he quietly said "i see." it wasn't the response she had hoped for, but perhaps it was better then being lied to. if she can't have his heart, atleast he's given up his body. at least she can pretend he has feelings, though even with her pleas he refused to pretend he did. "just act like i'm your ex." she had said, but that was too much for him. he could let her have his body, and forsaken his love enough to let her taste him on her lips, but lying about his emotions to the extent to pretend to be in love was something he could never do. life may never be happy for him again if he refuses to lie to himself about his emotions, but they were the only real thing that remained. every day he would fall, and try to be somebody else, but in the end it always returned. laying her head on his chest, she pretended that he felt the way she did not realizing how uncomftorable and awkward he felt inside. all of his t

The Daily Rant- The Blissful Ignorance Of A Republican
For those who are new to my blogs, I usually like to write about movie reviews and poetry, but I decided to do something different today. I decided to open up the daily rant. It's basically a journal where I vent out my frustration on certain issues for all to read. I'm not trying to offend anyone or anything, like I said this is just a daily rant that I open up to rant about the things that piss me off. Your more than welcome to disagree with me and comment about it, but it won't change my opinion. Today's rant is about the ignorance of Republicans blindly following an idiot for a president. George Bush has taken us to have the highest debt ever recorded in U.S. history, yet republicans argue that it was all clinton and carter's fault for the debt. I'm not genius here, but isn't that blind ignorance because if memory serves me correctly, for the last twenty five years or so, republicans were in office mostly. Does the name Reagan, George H. Bush and George W. Bush ring any bel

The Daily Rant- The Five Stooges Of Sports
For those that are unfamiliar with my blogs, let me explain, the daily rant is basically a journal where I mouth off about the things that piss me off. I'm not posting these to piss anyone off, so I'm sorry if I do in advance. Your more than welcome to comment about my opinion, but it won't affect mine though. Today's topic is the five biggest dumbasses in sports today. First, I got to say something about Terrel Owens, Wide Receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, who seems like the biggest bitch among athletes. He had a perfect thing going in Philadelphia until he fucked it up with his damn money demands. Why do these athletes whine and bitch about money especially when most of us would love to make even the minimum in their collective sport? If you want more money, then do it behind the scenes. Or you can just shut the fuck up and play the damn game. I know many Cowboy fans will not like this blog because of what I said, but they'll soon agree with me once TO decides, during the sec
The Daily Rant-dr. Clueless Or How I Come To Buy Into The Hollywood Romance Bullshit Scenario
To be honest, I have not freaking idea, why I chose this title. I know part of it was pay homage to the classic film, "Dr. Strangelove or How I learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb." Wait a sec..now I remember why, but I think I'll tell you at the end. Anyway, I know I haven't posted any movie reviews thus far in a while, but I decided to post one more rant before we get started here again. For those that aren't familiar with "the Daily Rant", it's basically a journal that I leave open for anyone to read where I just rant about stuff that tick me off. Why you may ask? I have no freakin idea, I guess a part of me wants people to know my opinions. You see in real life, I like to supress things, so it's hard for me to have a normal relationship with people because I can never tell them my actual opinions or how I feel. Even when I see a girl that's interested in me, I have trouble trying to talk to her like most normal guys would. Don't get me wrong, I have been with a cou

Criminal Affection ********************* A man escapes from prison where he has spent the past 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed. He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While the convict is rummaging through cabinets and drawers the husband tells his wife: "Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck! If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you." His wife takes a deep breath and responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He was whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me
Superman Returns
After appearing in several TV shows like "Superboy", "Lois and Clark", and "Smallville", Superman returns to where he belongs. Bryan Singer pays homage to the classic Richard Donner's films by using many of the same themes that made the first two movies a classic. Even going as far as to use the original theme music and spliced video images of the late Marlon Brando, as Superman's father, Jor-El. Kevin Spacey completely masters the role of playing Lex Luthor perfectly. Bringing a darker yet twisted sense of humor to the character, that was absent in previous Superman adaptations. Clark Kent is still the same loveable bumbling oaf as we come to love, and Brandon does a palatable job portraying the Man of Steel. Altogether on the surface, Superman has all the makings to be this summer's biggest blockbuster with a marketable character and a lot of hype, but it does fall a bit short though. Don't get me wrong, I thought Singer's approach to turning this film into a continuation as apposed
Stray Dog
While others merely use film noir in movies, Kurasawa uses it to perfection. Set in post WWII Japan, the film is about a young Japanese detective, Murakami (Toshiro Mifune) whom on one hot summer day gets his gun stolen by a pickpocket. Rather than facing the shame of reporting his gun stolen, he decides to investigate on who took it. Aided by a seasoned veteran detective, Sato (Takashi Shimura), they discover a criminal underworld in which the young detective's gun was sold and used to commit several crimes, including murder. Such events cause Murakami to become obsessed with finding the gun and the murderer. However as we get deeper into the movie, the audience is able to see how this investigation turns out to a deep look into Murakami's own criminal ambitions. Kurasawa proves once again that he's the master at film making as he's able to tell a story about a man searching for a criminal that shares many of his own qualities, but with different choices leading them down to different
X-men: The Last Stand
Quite possibly, one of the most overhyped films I've ever seen. In this final conclusion to the "X-Men" trilogy, the film franchise goes out in the way all other super hero films go out as their franchise comes to an end. The movie is about how the government comes up with a special cure to rid mutants of their powers. Not a bad premise to start the movie as this brings up several philisophical questions about what it means to be a mutant. Plus, throw in the Dark Phoenix for good measure, and you have a pretty good premise to leap from. Unfortunately, here lies the problem, the movie is only about ninety minutes long, yet it's mostly filled with nothing more than fight scenes. Hardly, any story or characters were fully developed as it seems all the promising plot points, in the beggining, seem to fade as Brett tries to put as many mutants and fighting in the movie as humanly possible. While the theme of the film just feels a tad weak. They introduce a goddess like Phoenix, whom could d

America's favorite family of super heroes are here to battle for truth, justice, and all the fame that comes with it. Based off the popular comic book by Marvel, the movie is about five atronauts that are sent into deep space. As luck would have it, some kind of cosmic storm hits their space station, and thus granting them each their own unique abilities. However, one of the astronauts and multi-billionaire, Victor Von Doom a.k.a. Doctor Doom (Julian McMahon), who decides to use his powers for evil. The Human Torch (Chris Evans), some are misreable as it deforms their appearance like Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing (Michael Chiklis). As I watched this movie, it seemed like it was more Seinfeld meets the X-Men. Not to say it wasn't fun to see The Thing and Johnny fight like brothers throughout most of

Chicken Little
Whatever happened to the old Disney Classics like "Bambi", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" or "Cinderella?" Or even the modern classics like "Tarzan", "The Little Mermaid", "Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast?" As it seems since Disney created "Tarzan", the company has slowly lost its' knack for storytelling. No longer the collosal giant that could capture the imagination of adults and children alike, without the aid of a certain Pixar company. No, as it seems, Disney has proven with this film, that it is nothing without Pixar. Indeed, whatever happened to memorable songs like, "Be our guest" or "A whole new world", they are now replaced by the Spice Girls song, "If you want to be my lover..." Yeah, they've gotten that bad. The mighty have fallen. "Chicken Little" is basically an extended version of the classic kids story, where a baby chicken starts to think the sky is falling when an acorn hits him in the head. However, as luck would have it, it turns out to a bunch of aliens on

Realizing how scared that I really am that I could lose him. I feel alot of regrets cause I know that there are things I should say to him but just dont know how. But I know that is what is gonna kick me in the butt later. I am scared that God will take him just as he took my angel. And I know that he will have a path that my life is supposed to take but I just dont think I would know how to teach my little boy how to stand up and pee or if I could run off all the boys that I know will be knocking at my door for my little girls thats something a daddy should do. It does not seem fair that I have to do it alone. I have been doing alot of thinking about weither or not my family will make it through all of this. Spaceballs
"What the hell is that? Spaceballs...Oh ****, there goes the planet." In this film, Mel pretty much takes a shot at a lot of sci fi stereotypes. Featuring an all star cast of Bill Pullman, Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, John Candy, Joan Rivers and many others. The film is basically about how Planet Spaceball tries to kidnap Princess Vespa, for ransom, so they can acquire the code to Planet Druidia's ozone. Thus, allowing Planet Spaceball to steal all of Druidia's air supply for themselves. However, the king of Druidia hires Lone Star (Bill Pullman) along with his trusty sidekick, Barf (John Candy), to save the princess. Unfortunately, encountering Planet Spaceball's nefarious President Scrube (Mel Brooks) and its' evil Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis). Indeed, Mel continues to prove why he's one of the masters of creating parodies. With so many outragious scenes, you'll swear that this one of funniest movies out there. The Hours
"The Hours" is perhaps one of the deepest films portraying life through a woman's perspective that has ever been made. The story is essentially about three woman (played by Julianne Moore (Laura Brown), Nicole Kidman (Virginia Woolf), and (Clarissa Vaughn) Meryll Streep), whose lives are almost parallel in life involving a lot of self recollection, love, and choices between life or death. I found the brilliant direction of this film to be fantastic as well as the epic screenplay and captivating performances by our three heroines; Ed Harris and Jeff Daniels weren't too shabby either. However, I wouldn't classify Nicole Kidman as the main actress in this film, though, (like the Academy Awards did), but it's still remains a very powerful film. "The Hours" is definitely a film about life. The screenplay for this film is written very uniquely, in similar fashion to a la "Lord of the Rings: Two Towers", where the story shifts between each character's story. Virginia Woolf's story, played

Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory
Umpa Umpa Dopedy Doo, do I have another puzzle for you, come join us on one of Hollywood's strangest fairy tale stories since "Wizard of Oz." I'm sorry for the rhyming moment, but I thought it might be appropriate when rating this movie. Based off the classic kids' novel, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" tells the story about a boy, named Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum), whom comes from a poor family, in amidst of the "Great Deppression", wins a golden ticket to visit Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, where all sorts of mischief occurs that'll tickle your imagination. Along with several other rotten kids, that somehow meet their own end due their greed and stupidity, throughout the movie. Featuring the great comedian, Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. I was really impressed with the set designs and creativity of this film, as it literally takes your breath away. Perhaps one of the most imaginative and innovative film since "Wizard of Oz", "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" takes you

Heart On The Mend
Just when I thought things were going bad, things have gotten better. It's amazing what happens when someone talks to you and lets you know what is going on. So all is well with the guy that I meet on here, he had things he needed to work out. I can understand that, so he called and we got together and talked it out and now things are good again. I think my heart is going to be ok. Well thats it, I'm off to bed it's 2:22 a.m and I'm sure my kids will have me up by 8. Goodnight, much love to all. Hugs and Kisses

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
Tim Burton decides to reenvision his take on Robert Dahl's classic novel, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Both the original and remake are good in their own way, so it's hard for me to say which one is better. Plus, I've never read the book, so I don't know which one is truer to the storyline. However, I thoroughly enjoyed both movies. Although, this film is perhaps a bit too dark for younger viewers, especially when they reflect on Willy Wonka's past. I think many fans of the original film will enjoy Burton's take on this one, as it provides more of a back story of whom Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) is. Plus, I felt the Umpa Lumpa's were done a lot better, with one guy playing all of them via CGI, as opposed to a bunch of verically challenged people with their faces painted orange and green hair. Another thing, I found interesting about this film is that it went away from the fairy tale story of the original, and made it into more of a quirky dark goth fairy tale on par with Burton's

Michael Jordan To The Max
There will never be another Michael Jordan. In this latest documentary it chronicles the basketball career of Hall Fame NBA player, Michael Jordan. Going back all the way to his North Carolina days to winning his sixth NBA title. Growing up as a die hard fan of the Chicago Bulls, I loved watching this documentary as it highlights many of the exciting games in which this man changed the NBA forever. Putting on spectacular performances like his game winning shot to beat the Cavaliers, in game seven of the playoffs. Or how about his performance against the Jazz when he played sick to only end up making the final game winning steal and shot to win the game, was truly a sight to behold. For those looking for an unbiased documentary on Michael, then you'll be sorely disappointed as this film doesn't cover the controversy surrounding his father's death. This film was purely made for the fans which isn't to say that's a bad a thing. As this film will make any Bulls or NBA fan, will want to add

Most of the bad were because i didn't use my head and only thought about me. No matter what i do i know that she will be by my side. Ido not give her the credit and recignition she deserves. Sure i buy here things but that does nothing for the emotional side i never seem to tell her that i love her as much as i should. She puts up with me and my carefree attitude more than she should. I never have been the besst at expressing my feelings.. This is the a problem that i am trying to work on i'm afraid that one day i will screw up big time and she will not be by my side. There are few things in this world that scare me that bad. I hope see looks at this and understands what i am the feelings i am trying to express. I love you!!!!!!!! Checking To See If My Attitude Has Changed
I went to my stepdad's cousin's funeral today. The service lasted over 3 hours. Ordinarily I'd say that was about 2 hours and 59 minutes too long. But it was a great service and I rather enjoyed it. What's bothering me is pretty much everything of, relating to, and following, a person's death. I realize that what I am about to say is pretty far out in left field but I gotta say it. The older I get, the more strongly I feel. So here goes: Who in the hell decided that it is ok to keep a dead guy around for days - sometimes weeks - so that everyone who knows him can come to see him? And what is up with filling huge parcels of land with boxes and boxes of dead people? Oh, yeah, and that'll be 15 grand. What is wrong with people? Whether or not God exists, I'm pretty sure that what, if anything at all, transpires when we leave this existence is not all that bad. In fact, I would say it's probably much better. Even if we simply became dust. SO WHAT! Let me tell you, people, rejoice the

Remembering A Good Friend
Most people who know me know that I don't talk about my past much (too many painful memories) but today I think I'll just share a little bit of me to you all. Growing up, I was an angry, bitter kid. I felt that the whole world was against me and that anyone that did get close to me would either screw me over or abandon me if I allowed them to get close to me (Yep I was a pretty messed up kid back then). Then when I was about 13, I moved back to Fresno, and I tried to have a relationship with my dad (that eventually turned out bad once again but that is another sory for another time) and get my life back on track. That summer (1989 I believe) I met a friend of my stepsister's. Her name was Myisha. Now at first we did not hit it off at all, she saw me as a thugged out hooligan (her exact words at the time) and I more or less saw her as a standoffish, snobby little bitch (I still had a lot of anger bottled up for many different reasons). It took a while, but as we got to know each othe

Words Of Advice
I dug this up.. it is from my aunt written to me along time ago.. when i went on another adventure in life.. (but life is adventrous) i wanted to pass this one to people if they actually read these things... it is true in its own way.... Dear One, I'll miss you both. Never forget we are here for you and we love you. As you are realizing your virtures and short comings.... stay focused.. NO ONE can make you happy.. you must find that path. Whatever happens- if it wont make a difference in tomorrow-next week- next year- walk over it- it has no meaning. Focus on good. Focus on accomplisments. Those who focus on success often dont know what it is. Some of success is being able to shed dead and unfocused weigh and forget it.. Dont live in the past. Its also a waste of precious youthful time. Do something sweet for someone everyday- expect nothing from anyone-that way you are not disappointed. Allow folks to love you. Its ok. Most good folks dont want a thing for it...
The Book
THE BOOK i think there is a book for lovers to be. everybody’s name is in it, everybody but me. whoever wrote this book somehow must have forgot. there is a love for me, no i think not. why am i the one who has to deal with this pain? i sit at the window and stare into the rain. is there a love for me will it ever be. i sit here and wait just waiting to see. seeing couples walk by with a gleam in their eye, puts a hurt in my heart, and makes me want to cry. maybe it is a page, that fell from the book. if i knew where it was i would take a look. to see why i am alone with no one to hold. on long winter nights so lonely and cold. if i could find this book i would write my name down. so that i can wear a smile, instead of this frown. is it too much to ask that i have love too? i want someone to kiss , someone i can call boo. i guess i am destined to be all alone. with no one to love , no one of my own.
Update Of My Last Post

Sambuca (optional) 1/2 cup cocoa Directions: Beat the eggs with the sugar until thick and lemony in color. Add the mascarpone and beat it into the egg mixture on low speed, scraping down the bowl. Do not over beat the mixture or it will curdle. Choose a large straight-sided dish, approx. 8" x 10", like casserole dish to assemble the Tiramisu in. Making it in a glass dish will show it off better when serving it. Combine the coffee and Sambuca in a shallow dish. Place the cocoa in a sieve over a bowl. Sprinkle the bottom of the dish lightly with cocoa. Quickly dip a few of the fingers into the coffee mixture and line the bottom of the dish. Do not get them too wet or your tiramisu will be runny. Spread on 1/4 of the mascarpone mixture and dust the top with cocoa. Repeat the process 2-3 times so you have 3-4

Is Growing Up Ghetto Such A Bad Thing
I was reading a friend of mine's blog the other day and she talked about her life and how she grew up and how someone made a derogatory comment about her being ghetto or pretending to be ghetto. Now while I was reading this it got me to thinking, and I asked myself a question. "Self." I said to myself. "'Sup" I replied (Yes I talk to myself this way sometimes). "Is being ghetto really such a bad thing?" I asked myself. And here is my reply: First of all, being ghetto is not about being a specific race, color, or creed. No ghetto in this world is completely filled with just one race. Some folk are there not by choice but doing what they can to survive, and others are there for other reasons which I don't want to get into, but yall know where I am taking this. That doesn't mean, however, that growing up ghetto is a bad thing. I am a prime example of growing up ghetto, but that in no way shape form or fashion makes me a bad person. Yeah I grew up on what most people will call the "
